It's just that with Budden, you have to get past his dogshit rap voice and snoozeworthy beat selection to even get to the message. The guy is a goddamn chore to listen to, even if his writing is legitimately good.

Then on the other hand you have Saigon, who comes with not just a good rap song, but maybe the best song he's recorded, period, in the last year or so. He chooses the perfect beat, destroys it, destroys Budden, and actually sounds like a *gasp* rapper doing it.

There's no contest here, and that bizarre video Budden put up just makes it worse.
Your opinion. I personally don't have a problem with Joe's voice or whatever. Making an argument for beat selection for these past two tracks is almost insensible because they both could have picked any beat from the past 25 years and it just so happens Sai picked one of the rawest.

And all I'm really saying is that a lot of the same talk that's going on in this thread was being said in the last thread about Joey's song last week.

Well yeah, sure, but we're comparing this song to that one.

And if rappers can't get props for choosing the right beat for the right moment then we might as well throw out every opinion we have on any of our favorite albums. It doesn't just so happen that Saigon picked a hot beat. He did, Budden didn't. It's a factor.

Anyhow. I don't care about either of these guys enough to really continue this conversation, I just had to remark because I haven't seen a KO like this in a long time.

I think the internet age's speed requirements for responses to diss records has made some of you respond exponentially more excited than you would a couple years ago when people would (gasp) take more than a day or two to respond to a diss track

bottom line- saigon's new diss was good, his first one was ok, and both buddens were half decent. budden has the potential to come back with some other shit though. i dont know if saigon can top this one

saigon clearly had a strategy. throw out a nonchalant diss track as a feeler. budden got gassed and thought he set some kind of trap and bragged about it (btw his adlibs and shit talking are gay) in his 2nd track, and that backfired terribly on him because saigon flipped that and fooled us into thinking he's wittier than joe, which i agree he's not

i mean, the illest line in this whole thing was "at this point i'm battling my own perception tryin to beat what's expected of me" but that doesn't change the fact that saigon made me lol fifty times more than anything joey said. i get it, kalel. he reps jersey. but come on, dawg, joey came corny in more than a few spots

why saigon is sonning joey:

1. any line about saigon being a deadbeat dad is tired at this point. his punchline about the same thing was what started all this and he his running to it for a cheap punchlines in BOTH diss tracks was too predictable.

saigon's response: talk shit about joey's son, how he dresses/talks/acts and how he's a faggot and how his father is the reason and at fault for letting all this happen. much more lol-inducing. he even plays the convo between joey and said gay son.

2. joey acts nonchalant, then when he thinks saigon "took his bait", he gets SUPER GEEKED on his 2nd track acting like he's dwight eisenhower playing risk and he keeps talkin shit about saigon having 'fallen into the trap' and it just comes off as corny to me

saigon's response: oh you thought i would come with the ether with underachiever? naw faggot i gave you takeover first, then ethered you with the 2nd

3. joey talkin shit about sai being a wide receiver

sai's response: you know the bars...play your position

4. joey with the gay jokes

sai's response: hardy har har...YOUR SON PLAYS WITH BARBIE DOLLS

5. joey ends both tracks with the beat stopping and him half fading out and it just sounds cheap and gay.

and i actually like joe budden a lot.

he buy everything...bi-polar, bi-curious

vitamins

hmmmm...

I don't think this is as killer as everyone is making out...

Some nice lines, but also bars with too many syllables fucking up his swagger.

If it's over, then no one wins - both dudes need the promo!

totally.

this shit IS fucking Ether level :copy: . Saigon fucking HIT EM UP! :tupac emoticon:

Buddens is lucky as fuck that it got squashed actually (if it did)

conceptually, Joey Budden couldn't come up with something this dope. Sure he can write out the ass, but the ideas Saigon combined created the ultimate sonning here on some "Joe, I am your father" :vader: shit

let it be said again: Saigon wins life.

yep, i wouldn't call this battle yet even though Sai bodied Budden's on this new shit. i felt like this diss track was the one that Sai actually hit dead one. his first one was ok; it was more like a few jabs than a nice uppercut. joe's diss tracks were put together nicely both times.

That's because Joe Budden dickriding has no plausible longevity. The guy's a fucking hack. He's not coming back on this one, he's not a good enough rapper. When you eventually succumb to this realization the whole world will feel new to you.

With the net buzzing with reports that Saigon and Joe Budden have squashed their escalating beef, XXLmag.com got in touch with The Yardfather to find out the details. Problem is Sai says that never happened.

When asked to confirm whether or not he got on the phone with Budden, Sai denied everything that Just Blaze wrote on his twitter account last night. ג€œNah thatג€™s what Just Blaze wants to happen in his heart,ג€ he said. ג€œI donג€™t know where he got that information from but thatג€™s totally bull****.ג€œ

In fact Sai thinks Blaze said that to cool things down. ג€œI donג€™t know where that came from,ג€ he explained. ג€œFor a while you know Just been trying to squash that **** cause he understands what it can turn in to. He just doesnג€™t wannsa see it go past ג€“you know just been around me and a lot of my people ג€“ and he doesnג€™t wanna see it go anywhere other than wax. And he knows thatג€™s very, very, very likely gonna happen.ג€

As XXL reported yesterday, Budden will be performing tonight at S.O.B.ג€™s as a part of the newly formed supergroup Slaughterhouse. While Sai is cool with the rest of the crew ג€“ which consists of Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5ג€™9ג€ and Crooked I, he says he will not be going to the show. ג€œThereג€™s really no need to be there, ג€œ he said. ג€œI would love to see the show as a hip-hop fan ג€“ they all talented people - I wanna see what they can come up with, but with that other **** thatג€™s not gonna happen.ג€

ג€œWe wanna see what Joeyג€™s gonna do,ג€ he added, ג€œcause he claims heג€™s gonna go there and do something. heג€™s gonna put his foot in my ass or whatever ג€“ so I donג€™t know where this phone **** came from. ג€œ

Sai announced on his last diss track ג€œPushin Buddens,ג€ which was released earlier this week, that heג€™s done with adding fuel to the fire, but he admitted to XXL that he will keep on putting out records if he has to. ג€œTo tell you the truth I donג€™t want to but you know know that **** is getting fun, cuz I donג€™t really battle but its fun now ג€“ now ill come back 10 times stronger than I came,ג€ he said abut putting out another track. ג€œSo if his **** ainג€™t 10 times stonger that that ג€˜Pain in his Lifeג€˜ ג€“ which I know he cant make a better record than that ג€“ if he can make a better record that than ****, heג€™s good, then I gotta step my **** up and do it again.ג€

Saiג€™s new mixtape, Warning Shots 2, is slated to hit the streets in April with production by Just Blaze, Scam Jones Bucwild and himself. ג€“ Jesse Gissen

I will not. I'm honestly surprised that you're this hellbent against Joe Budden's talent. I mean, I know you hate A LOT of new hip hop but I would at least think you would have some respect for the guy for being a good writer.

I guarantee that he comes back with some gutter shit tonight. Fuck you. Fuck Reason. NJ all day. I'm out.

I'm convinced at this point its going to be a staged beef much like Kanye and 50 was before their albums dropped. The only difference is neither will sell units. The phone call probably did take place to plan out the rest of the beef.

I'm also convince Budden got murdered.
