Super Smash Bros. Brawl anticipation thread

Post by A__TRAIN »

trailer:

trailer extended:

How will this play on the Wii?

Is this series starting to get too advanced for the arcade style game?

Solid snake? is this a joke? Will breaking someone's neck be one of his attacks?

Nintendogs as playable characters?? is this true?

Are the characters getting out of hand? Alot of the newcoming characters didnt have main roles in the original games (that noone really cared about) or just different versions of other characters(ie. wind waker link, zero suit samus, falco).

Character your hyped about the most? Solid Snake? Sonic? Viewtufil Joe? Wario?

I bet nintendogs are like the pikachu power-ups from the last game. Sonic and Snake look :wutang:

Nintendogs aren't playable characters, there is an item that makes them clog up the screen. Kind of dumb.

Sonic, Viewtiful Joe, Rayman and a bunch of other characters from that fan-made trailer aren't in the game (yet). Sonic is a possibility though, because it was confirmed that there are at least 2 other non-Nintendo characters in the game besides Snake.

One of my most anticipated games for the Wii, but I'm worried about how online will work with it.

I'm pretty pumped for this game. I'm still disapointed that it isn't going to be among the launch titles.

Exactly like it does on the Gamecube, most likely. It will use the gamecube controller. I have read that the developer is not focusing on making the game work with the special Wii remote.

Personally, I'm glad they aren't making too many changes. I would honestly buy the game if it was exactly the same as Melee but with a solid online mode. I was crossing my fingers that they wouldn't compromise the gameplay for the new version and so far they haven't let me down.

No.
A__TRAIN wrote:Solid snake? is this a joke? Will breaking someone's neck be one of his attacks?
Its not a joke. They haven't really shown any gameplay footage of Snake. I'm sure they'll pull him off well.

Yeah, some of the characters are kind of weak and are pretty much duplicates. But there are enough unique characters in the game to satisfy me.

Probably Wario. They should have included Waluigi though. Dudes a pimp.

I think A_TRAIN is jumping to conclusions here. We know that Konami has joined the Smash Bros. bandwagon, but Capcom and Sega? That's completely a rumor, even if plausible. Let's not jump to conclusions and then get mad when they aren't in the game, okay?

Okay.

With that said, it is the (non-launch) title I'm most excited about.

Love,

Smooth Lou

and the n64 is a fighting game controller?
IMHO, there is no lyricist now or before that can match the lyrical dexterity of Qwel.

have you ever played a fighting game on it? its incredibly easy and the button layout is pretty standard with the exception of the C buttons.

I find the GC controller awkward and some times its hard to find the shoulder buttons. But you own a GC i guess you get used to it.

The GC controller was pretty crappy for most games, but I actually loved it for SSB:M.

It was possibly my favorite game for the GameCube (or at least, the one I spent the most time on BY FAR).

we had Soul Calibur 2 for xbox, ps2, and GC

The cube version got the most love. Even cats who didn't like the controller had to give it up for the wavebird

yea wireless controllers are actually very comfortable to use. Espcially if have a dog that wont leave you alone when your playing video games. My dog always rips out the cords with his legs when he walks by.

Plus if you have a game where you need to do a lot of controller passing, it's a lot easier to just chuck that shit across the room.

Dr. Mario AND Falco. I'm ridiculous with both for different reasons.

My sister is really good with Pichu and Pikachu, and I don't know ANYONE that's good with Peach, GannonDorf or Ice Climbers.

Young link is actually pretty fresh though, he's like a less heavy regular link, but I never really got used to regular link anyway, so...

Ice climbers aren't bad. I've played with them probably about a dozen times.

Peach is a solid character.
Ganon is basically captain falcon except slower.
dr. mario I've played as 100s of times, since mario is my primary character its easy to switch to the doc for a change of pace.
