Kirk Hinrich
:rockout:

If the U.S. doesn't win with this squad they need to just give up.

Seriously. There isn't anything this squad can't do.

Kirk Hinrich is the most overrated player in the stratosphere.

Who - besides me - is overrating him?

Dude is a solid PG with a great A/T ratio, a great handle (especially for a white dude), a good shot, and good leadership skills. There's not many of them floating around in the NBA.

Gilbert Arenas should be forced to keep a running blog of his exploits during the tournament

- the hell?!

Hinrich is, if anything, is underrated.

Offensively, he is solid.

It's his defense that is so overlooked. He's a 1 who can shutdown 2s and has even been assigned the defend the 3 position at times.

Just ask Dwyane Wade.

He's no superstar, but a solid player that can fit well under any system. Don't you wonder why Coach K begged him to join the USA squad after declining?

What does him being white have to do with anything?

How many white dudes do you see crossing people up? Stereotype or not, white people are not well known for their handles.

Didn't you learn anything from Jimmy the Greek?

He's good at something for a white guy in your opinion. I don't see why that factors in when rating him as a basketball player, but ok.

Chris Paul better get the starting PG spot

Paul
Wade
Lebron
Brand/Howard/Bosh
Stoudemire/Howard

is very strong

I'm not sure what the best 4/5 combo is, but its very deep

Miller's a hell of a passer, I could see him setting the plate for the high flyers.

debatable, but jason williams has one of the best handles in the league?

good roster.

battier and miller are perfect for playing against international competition, not sure why people are pissed about their additions. they do all the little things on the court, they've each got nice mid-range jumpers, they're both good passers (miller might be the best passing big man america has to offer), and they can board. those guys, along with hinrich, are exactly the type of players america needs to be competitive. teams of superstars don't work...every team needs role players.

Because since he doesn't have the muscular structure that a heritage of slavery would have afforded him, he gets a handicap; like in golf.

I was just making an off the hand comment. But, besides Jason Williams, how many white people in the NBA - or in college - do you see crossing people up?

I'm not pissed, I just think they wanted a few more white guys on the team.

This effort to include "role players" is going a little too far. I'm surprised Coach K didn't talk Christian Laettner and Bobby Hurley outta retirement.
