Swear to god, saw this for the first time last night. I was expecting it to be laugh out loud funny, and although I did do so regarding some scenes ("Chicken Fucker!"), I couldn't help but realize that maybe I should have been better prepared before watching.

I'm not familiar at all with Broken Lizard. Is any of their other stuff funny?

for some reason last night my roommate and I were laughing our asses off simply by mentioning Farva saying, "Bet you don't know what this is"
Rabbit: "it's a shammy cloth"

honestly, the movie has its weak moments... but if I'm in the right mood and haven't watched it in awhile... its fucking hilarious.

here's my super troopers story:

I worked in a record store and every person on the staff loved this movie and I was the only one who hadn't seen it. they told me it was like the "funniest thing they had ever seen" and it was "funnier than dumb and dumber and billy madison" yadda yadda

so I rented it, watched it and laughed probably like 3 times and was severly let down.

then I saw Club Dread in the theaters and that sucked and I'll prolly never waste my time watching that again, but yesterday we put Super Troopers on and I laughed harder than any movie I've seen in recent memory.

So my thoughts are: go into the movie in a good mood with low expectations and you'll enjoy it.

If someone owns this movie, a Family Guy DVD is probably on the same shelf.

great movie. doesn't really bother me that some people don't like it, i do.

story: me and a kid on the baseball team once went back and forth with one-liners from this movie. if he couldn't come up with one first, they had to run after practice, if i couldn't come up with one, they didn't have to..

i won.

they ran around the bases for a while..

Family Guy actually has some clever humor. Super Troopers is fucking horrible all around.

I've thought it was pretty fucking hilarious overall. Certainly better than Club Dread. In fact Club Dread was a dissapointment.

Agree with Cable, this movie is about managing expections. Thought it was pretty funny- but it's not as funny as it tends to get made out to be. Everything's a little off, and if you're in the right mood that's fantastic, if you're in the wrong one you're just like "HEY MOVIE FUCK YOU".

this movie is great for many particular scenes and quotes, but as a whole it doesn't hold much weight.

that being said, the first 10 minutes of the film could possibly be one of the top 5 most hilarious opening sequences in comedy history.
