wade is carrying that team. gary payton is pretty much done and needs to retire whether they win a ring or not. i think that him and zo will retire if they do win a ring. its obvious that shaq is on the downside of his career. doesn't he have 4 years left on his contract at 20 mil per? also what's the deal on that high school kid the heat drafted in the first round. i think his name is dorrell wright.

I think if the Heat win, that Payton shouldn't get a ring anyway. They should be passing out rings and be like "Wade-Great job man, you did it; Shaq-Number 4 big man, good work; Payton-Man fuck outta here with ya' old ass, be glad we let you on the court."

Cue Mitch Richmond with the Lakers. What a wack way for a legend to go out.

Not really, it's just pretty clear he's not ready to play yet. He's supposed to still be absolutely terrible defensively. He's developed a jumpshot which he didn't have when he came into the league. Wright's just 20 years of age too.

He has a lot of potential, but if they put him in during the playoffs I would choke Pat Riley with Stan Van Gundy's ball hair. Same can be said for pretty much anyone lower than Doleac off the bench. We really need to get some better depth in the off season, or at least people that Riles likes. Too many guys getiing John Wallaced.

i remember reading an nba rumor mill type article saying the heat would be actively looking to move dorrell wright in the offseason. this was a couple weeks before the playoffs.

it kind of struck me as odd because it didn't even seem like they gave the kid a shot.

I don't know how much you can trust an nba rumor mill type article. I know that we drafted him before Shaq arrived. I'm not sure if Dorrell would've been drafted over, say, Jameer Nelson if Shaq's arrival was certain. Pat Riley mentioned that his plan was to go with long athletic types to compliment Wade, Caron and Lamar. But I guess since that plan is obviously out the window, how he might not fit in to the immediate future. I don't see what the Heat can get for him though.

the heat would probably get nothing for him.

which would be a waste of a first round pick. they'd be better off trying to give him PT next year before he jets in the offseason the following year. to see what they have. but i can't see how they'd make room for that with posey, walker, and wade all in front of him on the depth chart.

i can't believe i said antoine walker ahead of anyone on a depth chart.

Suspension seems fair enough. No attempt to go for the ball, just body checked shaq into the crowd. Gotta protect the players from that shit.

People have been suspended for similar fouls before right?

Based on the suspensions they've handed out so far in the postseason Stackhouse should be suspended. He hit Shaq in the head with his right forearm and followed through.

Yep, this is one of the few times I'd have to disagree with a Pop statement. There was no attempt to go for the ball when Stack went at Shaq.

A suspension is lame. The NBA sucks. I hate it.

and i've complained about every suspension in the playoffs other then jason terry's. i didn't think the foul was that bad. charles oakley would've never played a game of the playoffs if the nba implemented "rules" they have today back then. bill laimbeer too.

ridiculous.

That's more commentary on today's league than it is this series. Within the context of today's league, Stack's action was a suspendable offense. Within the context of Xavier McDaniel, that's not even a flagrant.

Suspension is the biggest BS iv ever heard of. Cmon, even shaq said that it was just a hard foul and that he was from the old school where that was common.

Yeah, but Shaq was tough talking. Again, this goes to the league trying to reincarnate itself from the ashes of Artestbrawl and VanGundy clutching Zo's ankle. By the current rules, that was a flagrant foul worthy of suspension.

Howard pulled a C-Webb...even though it's doubtful they woulda made it even if the ball would've advanced.

agreed about Wade, but that was kind of a cheap way to win...at the line.

this shit is too much though, i like both team's equally. i'm rooting for Dallas next game so it goes 7.

Pretty much. The guy owns the 4th quarter. You know when a player has elevated to elite status when you no longer cringe when he takes tough shots in important situations.

Phantom foul, if anything Wade pushed off twice during that last possession. The OT was so physical and they call THAT.

LOL @ Dirk just kicking everything on the way to the locker room.

Howard is on suicide watch.
