All I'm saying is that USC plays in the Pac-10 (which while not the best, is fuckloads better than people realize it is).

Indeed, but I think Arizona State and Notre Dame might rock em this year.

i disagree.

LSU has a stockpile of talent. saban left whoever is the coach there with the motherload.

however i still feel, ohio state is a top 5 team no matter what the rankings are.

On paper, I agree. The D is stout and they have some play-makers on O. But they have to pick a QB and go. This rotate shit never works. And they need to open up the playbook to take advantage of the speed. Tressel will be his own worst enemy because he plays it too tight, IMO.

By the way, not a Buckeye fan at all. There are about 12 of us in Columbus. The town was in an absolute funk today over Saturdays loss. They will be feeling this all season long.

yeah i agree.

rotating QBs is awful.

but their defense is soooooo good, i don't think any team but texas, USC, LSU, and maybe even florida could touch it offensively.

your statement is overrated. at least one of those teams that you mentioned above will finish in the top 10 at the end of the year.

i never understood the conference rivalries in college sports. I mean, i understand inter-team rivalries but how many sports do you hear fans repping the AL Central or the NFC South or some shit? Just seems ridiculous to me.

Yeah and they all play each other too. That's one of the joys/pains about being a fan of an SEC team, we feed on our own a lot. I remember a couple of years back when LSU was all but declared national championship, they play UF, loose and there you go. Same thing with Georgia. Odds are if you can go undefeated in the SEC you probably will be playing for the National Championship.

Until the last couple of years, I used to say the best team in Florida played for the national championship. I really hope this year I am right though.

It's easy, in a lot of places, you gotta pick a side early on. I grew up in Jacksonville. When I was 5, I had to make the decision to wear UF orange and blue or UGA red and black. I ended up wearing orange and blue. About 18 years later, I graduated. By the time I was ten, i didn't like Georgia and absotively hated FSU. These days, UGA is ok, but I still have no respect for anybody who graduated from Free Shoes U and I hate Philfatfuckinfuck Fulmer.

SEC will still be better, the ACC was garbage for a long time with just FSU(the whole 90's) .. Miami is legit, VA Tech is damn good, BC isn't an elite school

Ppl argue about conferences b/c you dont get to see interconference games between elite teams very often during the regular season. The actual strength of conferences doesnt really become clear until after the flawed bowl system and even after that, its still rather ambiguous.

Conference rivalry makes sense. You want your team to be competing against teams with nationwide respeck so that they make the best possible bowl at the end of the season.

SEC is the best conference and still will be better no matter what ACC fans say.

i like Miami but they've been slowly getting worse. Larry Coker's a good coach but his recruiting has been weak. Willie Williams is his only prized recruit and he probably only signed there becuase he was a local product.

I feel that thats somewhat true about Miami. Since they won teh natl championship when I was a freshman, they have lost one more game each successive season, but I dont think that recruiting is the main factor. Berlin simply was too inconsistent to lead the team. We'll see how Kyle Wright turns out, but Miamis still bringing in NFL potential every year especially at defensive positions as of late. I think Coker is too calm at times kind of like Tony Dungy. It makes me wonder whether this affects teh players negatively.
