Attention Mac Users!
Can any Mac Users recommend any great games available for Macs? I only play games on all three of the current gen consoles, but I'm looking for something different. I know PC RTS & RPG games are now ported over to Macs, but I don't know where to start.
http://www.macgamefiles.com/ for demos, &c.

I'm actually pretty big into Mac games.... www.insidemacgames.com is the best place to get reviews.
For RTS games, I recommend Rise of Nations. Its like a mix between Age of Empires and Command and Conquer. For FPS's, Call of Duty is arguably the best ever to grace the Mac platform.
Myth II is an older game, but if you can find it, that's probably the greatest RTS ever made.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto is a very original FPS that blends some RTS elements into it. Its a great (and hilarious) game and sells for cheap now.
I can't vouch for World of Warcraft 'cause I've never played it and it seems kinda expensive, but I've only heard amazing things about it.
My favorite computer game is Escape Velocity, a series that was originally only available for the Macintosh. Its shareware, and you can download it at http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn/
If I had to recommend one game, Escape Velocity would be it.
hope that helps

Rise of Nations is definitley a game I want to investigate further. Ideally, I'm looking for more of a god-sim game ala Populous etc. Although I don't know much about RON, I'm really torn between this and Age Of Mythology. However, I loved the original C&C and it's definitley one of my top ten games of all time. The Red Scare wrote:I'm actually pretty big into Mac games.... www.insidemacgames.com is the best place to get reviews.

I find the idea of a MMORG to be very intriguing and it sounds like it'll be a game I'm missing out on. I do find the idea of a monthly fee a real put off though, but I don't know of any MMORG's available for a Mac that has been put in such high regard than WOW.Useff wrote:Only get that if you're sure you want an MMORPGSpartan wrote:Thanks for the help and suggestions, guys.
I'm finding this kind of tempting

For god sims, I heard very good things about Black & White. Age of Mythology is a lot of fun, but I prefer RoN, mostly because I'm a fan of historical games.Spartan wrote:Ideally, I'm looking for more of a god-sim game ala Populous etc. Although I don't know much about RON, I'm really torn between this and Age Of Mythology. ^^^ Thanks for all the input, The Red Scare.
I spent most of the afternoon doing some investigating, reading reviews at various sites and I've decided to purchase Rise Of Nations.
I read there were some serious flaws with B&W so I gave it a miss. Maybe the sequel would have ironed all those creases out.
