I legit have no memory of this, but this was the go-home Thunder before the final WCW Starrcade, which as we all know, is supposed to be their biggest event of the year - http://www.wrestlecrap.com/inductions/i ... on-you-do/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cabana looking good, haven't seen him wrestle in a while, in the podcast with DDP he said he's dropped 30+ lbs.

Go to 39:14, that guy Orange Cassidy (who you may know as Fire Ant from Chikara) is probably tied with Ashley Remington for my favorite new indie gimmick.

The Irish Whip bit at 42:01 killed me.

I've been watching 2000-2001 WCW ppv's recently, between when Russo came in and when they went under. Jesus, what a clusterfuck. I was watching it still at the time, but I don't remember it being anywhere near as bad as it actually is. Even with all the awful booking though, there were a lot of young, talented guys on the roster who were busting their ass to look good every time they got a chance.

Well it was pretty cool, the show really needed that yesterday. I thought it was a nice way to put Rusev over.

The Rock is sooo fucking corny.

The idea of having to put up with this dude for 3 months in a road to WM program is cringe-worthy.

I disagree. Rusev being in the ring with the Rock puts him over. The Rock saying Rusev was more dangerous than the majority of the locker room put him over. Not hitting him with anything other than a few punches and no signature moves...is putting him over. Rusev still looked strong, and the Rock popped the crowd, I see no downside. I get the Rock backlash, he has been painfully bad lately, I just though the promo in Brooklyn worked.

i thought he punked out rusev. up until this point he'd been booked as a monster. i cant see how a monster getting knocked out and leaving the ring puts the monster over

Outside of thinking Rock's been bad lately (I liked the work with Punk and the Cena promos) I agree with this post. Definitely put Rusev on the map.

pretty much, especially by someone who doesn't even wrestle anymore.

Arguably the most famous wrestler in the world who main evented 3 straight recent Wrestlemanias was in the ring in NY with a guy who was in NXT last year that hasn't sniffed main event relevancy ever.

Put him over huge. The fact that he just punched him and few times and didn't hit the rock bottom on him was huge. Def not a squash lol. Huge push toward main event relevancy. Without Orton or Wyatt doing shit, they need a main event heel so we don't have to keep watching Kane hobble around.

Rumor-wise, really hope Wyatt frees Harper and Rowan and they bring up The Ascension as the new Family.

He didn't Rock Bottom/People's Elbow him, he punched him out of the ring and Lana called him off. Wasn't a burial at all, and you aren't going to see anyone lay The Rock out off an unannounced Raw appearance, so I think it's as good of a segment as it could be.

with 4 punches he knocked him out of the ring and sent him scarpering back up the ramp

and this was AFTER the whole 'crush' thing. I fail to see how this makes Rusev look good.

He was a prop so Rock could play bobby big balls on RAW, nothing more.

it doesnt put him over because it put him at a class below main eventers. they wouldnt have allowed that to happen to brock, cena, orton, hell even HHH as a non active wrestler would have been put in a position to make the segment seem physically competitive. in my eyes having rock punk out rusev fucks with his potential as a legit main eventer when up until that point he was being booked as having the potential to compete and possibly go over anybody. we all just saw this year with brock that you put over a monster by having him go over people you dont expect him to go over (ending the streak, crushing cena in the first match). rusev was on a similar path in the midcard and it seemed like it was leading to a strong main event push. to me this was another case of heat squandering (ie ryback, brodus, fandango). they could have had rocky punk out miz

So I did the Smackdown 15 taping in Philadelphia Tuesday. It was coo overall. Nothing crazy but had an awesome time. Rock wasn't there but they had a "backstage" vignette w/ him and Trips that was gold. Anyway tho, weird thing is...the biggest pops of the night were for Paul E. (in Philly duh), Cena and Usos of course, Ambrose, and a former GM who returned for the anniversary. But the next biggest? Damien Sandow. :naswtf:

I mean, they literally started a very audible "Thank you Mizdow!" chant in the middle of his match. I'm not mad @ it, in fact I joined in. It was just random as hell. Is Sandow from Philly or something?

I was at Raw Monday and Rock's entrance blew the roof off the building. The next most over talent on the show was Damien Sandow.
