Anyone else catch the Shield doc they put on the network during the Summerslam buildup? I finally watched it today, it's pretty great.

Randomly remembered today that, for as much as people love the late 90s-era of wrestling, Raw would always be pre-empted on Labor Day and the week before because of the US Open. Same in February with the Westminster Dog Show.

While I could do with more canines on Raw, missing rasslin' due to tennisin' is something I'm glad we've moved past that younger generations will have no idea about.

Another bad Raw. I seriously can't take 3 hours of JBL, I'm not sure if he's gone insane or if they want this to be his shtick.

really hate how JBL switches from heel to face within a moments notice...why can't he just be a 100% heel?

Not gonna front, content like that makes me want the network, but I just refuse to give the WWE money when their current product isn't up to par.

I like it so far, anyone know how many episodes there is supposed to be? I figure there has to be a Mick Foley, Rock, Stonecold individual episodes. Probably a Goldberg one. I hope a cruiserweight episode. One on all the stupid shit Russo did in the WCW.

I read there were at least 20 episodes, but who knows if that's true. I was surprised they were rolling them out so quickly instead of just doing one a week.

Anyone else find it kinda weird they're using old Bischoff talking heads? I mean, they got Schiavonne and even Russo to record new interviews. Wonder what the deal is there.

Watch the entire opening segment from this week's Smackdown. Trust me, the payoff at the end is excellent.

Alberto Del Rio Wins Court Case Against Vince McMahon And WWE

http://www.inquisitr.com/1459211/wwe-ne ... n-and-wwe/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The reason was that the Social Media guy wanted to press charges against WWE, but WWE officials talked him out of it. They pretty much had to fire Alberto Del Rio to help settle the issue and make sure the lawsuit was dropped. Triple H was said to have told Del Rio to keep his nose clean and gave the impression that they would re-hire him.

This happened with Daniel Bryan years ago. During the Nexus debut, Bryan went above and beyond to sell the Nexus attack and choked WWE Announcer Justin Roberts with his own tie. Known as tie-gate, Bryan was released shortly after for going too far. WWE pretty much told him that they would want to have him back in a few months when things blow over. All he had to do was keep from getting into any trouble.

Raw was better, thought the main event was a dud. Was great to see the NXT stars on Raw, they killed it, and the announce team actually sold them and the action in the ring. I liked the steel cage match, props to Jericho for that dive.

Wrestling's weirdly transitional right now, and I think there's a good chance industry-wide it's going to get weirder over the next six months.

What do you mean? The indie allstars/rookies on NXT? Total Divas? Network stuff like low PPV buys changing the programming?

I mean industry-wide.

The Punk, Del Rio and looming Rey lawsuits might change the way the company does business going forward.

WWE figuring out what to do with elevating new stars and the old guard and part timers slowly leaving.

Wrestling entering other mediums of television like "Total Divas" on E! and that upcoming AMC show on Resistance Pro.

Ring of Honor both having Jay Briscoe with their world title Saturday out of nowhere (with rumors about regarding everything from then-champion Michael Elgin's attitude to his work Visa) and it happening two days before the announcement that their weekly show is moving into syndication, starting in Atlanta. With ROH also making a more-successful-than-predicted jump into the terrestrial pay-per-view market this year already, along with their partnership with New Japan, things are going to get interesting going forward, especially considering how they've assembled the greatest tag team division of any promotion on the planet in probably a decade.

Chikara's full return with King of Trios and the influx of talent that have been exiled from other promotions who could get a perfect rebirth here.

New Japan and Konnan's Mexican-American promotion's on-going negotiations to get on American television, with the shadow of Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling not too far behind.

PWG being caught in the middle of all this possibly having to deal with all the indie promotions having to change their contracts to keep their talent from appearing on their shows (Elgin taking a loss while ROH Champion apparently ruffled some feathers there).

And the unclear future TNA taking an entirely different story every week while their weekly television show is already in the can months in advance as we move toward their biggest show of the year inexplicably happening in Japan as a joint-venture with Great Muta's Wrestle-1.

I feel like these are the tremors before a huge landscape shift. Post-Wrestlemania, the industry as a whole could look a lot different.

Former WWE and WCW wrestler Sean O’Haire (real name: Sean Christopher Haire) has passed away at the age of 43. The official obituary notes that he died Monday, in his home in Spartanburg, NC.

There will be a Celebration of Life visitation this Saturday from 1:00-3:00PM. For more information, follow the link provided.

O’Haire was trained at the WCW Power Plant, and made his pro wrestling debut on an episode of WCW Nitro in 2000. In his year with the company he became a three-time WCW Tag Team Champion, twice with Mark Jindrak and another with Chuck Palumbo. When WWE bought out WCW O’Haire’s contract was purchased and he made his debut on Smackdown as part of The Alliance. As a team, O’Haire and Palumbo had feuds with the Brothers of Destruction and the Acolytes Protection Agency (APA), as well as stars like Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, and Team Canada in WCW.

After wrestling, O’Haire pursued the sport of Kickboxing, before transitioning into MMA, where he finished his career with a professional record of 4-2

RIP, the devils advocate gimmick had great potential

Those O'Haire vignettes are easily in the Top 5 the company ever produced. Absolutely fantastic, to-the-point, nuanced, made the character seem like something flushed out and compelling that you would want to see on TV.
