Carlos Boozer hurt 'jumping around'

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Chicago Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer did not play in Thursday night's loss to the Golden State Warriors after tweaking a left calf injury while warming up in the locker room before the game.

Boozer, who has been dealing with the same calf injury for several weeks now and has missed various games and practices because of it, was listed in the starting lineup.

"It was sort of a freaky sort of thing," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. "He was jumping around before the game in the locker room, getting ready to come out, and tweaked something in his calf. He was dressed and ready to go. He had gone through everything [and] was fine. He was fine this morning, and [it was] just one of those things."

Bulls forward Taj Gibson started in Boozer's place and scored 26 points.

I feel this way too. You had Cousins as your western all star starter a few pages ago.

I personally would have had Davis as mine.

I was tryin to do my starters according to position, and I think The Brow is more of a PF than a center. But thats splitting hairs and he made the actual all star team which is all that really matters.

I feel like the definition of C along with PF and PG is changing.

There are dudes like Marc Gasol and Dwight who are natural centers and there are centers like Davis who is an evolutionary Marcus Camby who do their damage on offensive boards, mid range jump shots, and pick & rolls.

Report: Bulls Worried About Luxury Tax Due To Bonuses

Feb 07, 2014 11:54 AM EST

The Chicago Bulls are worried about the possibility of paying the $250,000 bonus in Taj Gibson's contract if he makes the NBA All-Defensive second team and how that would impact their total salary in regards to the luxury tax, according to a report.

The Bulls thought they had wiggle room on the luxury tax after trading Luol Deng but are now reportedly worrying about Gibson's potential pay.

The Bulls have played with just 12 players on their roster and will have to sign a 13th player by Feb. 14.

Gibson signed a four-year contract extension with the Bulls on October of 2012.

He'd actually been playing pretty well leading up to this game, but he's had to play too many minutes tonight with Lance out. He's a nice veteran backup, but gets exposed playing against starting units at this point in his career. His D has been good and he's been an effective cutter and tremendous free throw shooter. You don't want him on the floor in crunch time.

he doesn't play any defense, but in that clip he had an injured quad and could barely walk. you can;'t stand him because he was injured?

He could walk on offense the pocession before when he got offensive board, 2 shots, and trip to the line.

You don't get stats for fouling someone in one point game in 4th quarter. Save the energy #s.

did you even watch your own clip? he is limping like a motherfucka... he could barely walk the entire game and he sprained his ankle 2 nights ago. his defense sucks, yes; but try to understand the context before you cherry pick 5 seconds of footage and use it as an example to justify your hate

Yes, I watched my own clip. I also watched the whole game. Like I said, one possession (we really pointing out typos PB?) ago he could walk good enough to grab some offensive boards, get a shot off, and draw a foul. Wrapping up someone RIGHT in front of him to stop him from getting an open dunk in 1 point game? Not healthy enough for that though.

I always hate watching Love (outside of his outlet passes). Nothing worse then seeing someone boxing out every single play instead of putting an ounce of energy into trying to have some help defense.
