If Rick's involved I'll definitely check it out. Some of those beats sounded decent.

Don't always love everything Jay drops, but I like most of it and will ALWAYS check for his new shit.

Re: Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail
Should be decent enough, I suppose.
Re: Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail
The beats sound pretty great, but I think it might be telling that the video gives only the vaguest sense of the lyrical content and delivery.

Re: Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail
Cool to see jay actually adopting the no single/no video just drop an album approach that he wanted to do for the black album. Sucks he let kanye do it first tho.
Re: Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail
these beats sound amazing so far
definitely will check this
definitely will check this
Re: Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail
Not sure what it being a Samsung commercial has to do with my comment, but I was suggesting that Jay may not do the beats justice.Combo7 wrote:TheTed wrote:The beats sound pretty great, but I think it might be telling that the video gives only the vaguest sense of the lyrical content and delivery.

Re: Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail
Right, I'm sure the execs at Samsung are concerned that Jay-Z isn't lyrically lyrical enough and that showing him rapping could adversely impact downloads of their app.

Sorry, I thought this was a music board. I'll refrain from discussing the potential quality of the album and instead focus on Samsung's ingenuity in utilising branded content in this post-marketing world.

SO smart of Jay to wait until Yeezus LEAKED to even let one word drop about this.

You're missing the point. Also, stop crying.
The idea of the Samsung marketing department sitting around a table shaking their heads and saying, "Damn, Jay came kind of wack on this one, we need to do some damage control," as if they'd even be able to tell the difference between good rapping and bad rapping, is a wildly borked-out interpretation of this Galaxy advertisement.
