They've changed some historical facts, like with the early arrest of Remus, so I don't think they'll just let it play out liek history did

i think when it said "al" he was trying to say "also" because he was referring to richard, not capone.

do we know what year they are supposed to be in this season? historically remus was arrested closer to the beginning of prohibition so it's not like that was a big departure from fact. they've played it pretty close so far.

Why is everyone pretending that other than the last two eps this season has been garbage?

I don't think Rossetti's character is too strong but the pacing on this season has been better than lasts.

Just watched it last night and Stephen Graham's delivery of those last few lines were pitch perfect. Love this show and expectations for next week couldn't be higher.

 . Correct. If you read the next post where I clarify it is pretty obvious.

Spoiler, kind of. Just saying what happens in real history
I wonder if they going to have Luciano kill Massaretti like in real life. It is earlier then it happened in real life by some years, but it would make some sense if he now isn't able to sell the heroin and can't pay him back.

i've had few complaints this season in general. some of the middle episodes were slower than I'd like or didn't feature some of the lesser characters (Richard, Chalky, Capone, Van Alden) while featuring Margaret and other more annoying characters. That being said, I think each season has gotten stronger since the premiere episode.

i was wondering this too, but with him probably doing a little bit of jail time that complicates things even more. they've definitely messed around with time- as i mentioned before it's hard to get a sense of what year we are in and that's probably to cover how they have manipulated timelines. but i think it's almost guaranteed that luciano murks masseria and under-cuts Gyp's backing, basically leaving gyp defenseless for nucky's retribution.

fun facts:

The crooked officer who arrested Luciano says he got his scar in Mulberry Bend, an infamous section of New York's Five Points neighborhood. You'll recall that neighborhood famously portrayed a few decades earlier than "Boardwalk" in another Martin Scorsese project, "The Gangs of New York."

I don't get what happened.

Rothstien had crooked cops get the drugs for him, which he then split with Masseria if Masseria stopped giving Jip support. Was the money that Luciano and Lanksy owe Masseria mentioned at all? I don't see where they are getting 100k, or whatever it was, back to him.

masseria got both the heroin and his money back, while rothstein issued a pretty epic fuck you to lucky and lanksy.

Terrance Winter sat down with Entertainment Weekly for an interview and recap of season 3 this week after the finale aired. More news-worthy than his wonderful thoughts on this season were his tidbits about the future of Boardwalk Empire.
http://hbowatch.com/boardwalk-empire-sc ... -season-4/
So now that Nucky is back on top, can we expect that gangster focus to continue into season 4?
Yes, more than likely.
The boardwalk is such a big part of the show, but that ending hints that Nucky might not feel comfortable on the boardwalk in season 4. Is that an accurate interpretation?
It’s still his kingdom and his empire, but I think he’s going to be a lot less visible and a lot more insulated.
What year does season 4 begin? Is there another time jump?
About mid-1924, so about a year later.
And what can we expect in that time period?
In 1924, we’re really into the booming economy, with a really young culture. It’s the year Capone (Stephen Graham) came into his own. [Meyer] Lansky (Anatol Yusef) and Lucky [Luciano] (Vincent Piazza) really became the gangsters we now know them to be. And in our fictional part of the show, Nucky will create his own gang.
Can you elaborate a bit about Capone?
It’s no historical secret that in 1924 he took over the town of Cicero, Il., and made it his base of operations. The question is how do our fictional characters interact in that world. Now former agent Van Alden is in between those guys, and that will play out in a big way.
If the presumed fifth or sixth season comes along and you’re told by HBO that it’s the last one, is your goal to conclude the story at the end of Prohibition?
Ideally, that would be a great end point — or the stock market crash might be another logical end point. Given the nature of what we do, you have to be prepared to wrap things up when it’s time to end. I hope I have enough advance notice to bring the story to a conclusion I’m really happy with and I’m confident that I will.
Do you have a final scene in your head?
Yeah. A vague one, yeah. But, of course, I can’t tell you.

Gun fights are my favorite thing about movies or shows. Hard Boiled is my favorite movie. I thought that Richard Harrow brothel assault was a great example of how to do it right. The craziest part was how that dude who tried to take the gun from his pants almost blew his dick off. (pause). You could tell Richard was think, "Nooooo not when I finally have a bad bitch to stick it into."

The way he scoped all those noobz without even zooming was hilarious as well.
