LOL @ step going on his usual tirades. I'm pretty sure Rick Ross sounds nothing like Bonecrusher.

Not to sound douchey (but that goes with the territory i guess) but Nas and Ghosftace each have 50 unreleased trackes that would rival most rappers top 50 comps including da gawd Rozay. Still, I will check out theee link.

B. Ware tha Siniq wrote:Album is very good. I don't think it's as good as Teflon Don was, but it might be better than Deeper than Rap. That said, it's not as overproduced as Teflon Don was, so it might stand the test of time there. Ross's albums typically have a fair amount of R&B shit, so that's not really a surprise, but there is a lot of it in the later half of the album. I think if I have any real complaint with this album it's sequencing.

How many more posts before Mindbender comes in here and moonhowls the fuck out?
a few. i been busy having sex and meditating. thread is not complete without me breaking Rawse down to the very last compound, cmon son!

I think Port of Miami is his worst. Some crazy beats, but his vocals were all sorts of fucked up.

But every album since then has been a God damn rap cinema. Can't wait to pick this up the day it drops.

Son we are Americans. You know how faggy My-bach Music would sound. And I'm sure your Geordie ass bullshit pronunciation is much more attractive. Fuck outta here.
that's really some lame-ass, low-class shit, though. :bunk:

don't you think the people who MADE the My-bock automobile are fucking LAUGHING at this fake ass buffoon like "what kind of clown names their business after us, but can't even pronounce the name right? these fraudulent, high-falutin' ghetto negroes are more fucking pathetic than ever!"

I agree with your general sentiment and "cinematic" is definitely hackneyed as fuck at this point, but I actually think it's pretty fitting of Ross's music. Generally his albums are pretty fully engrossing ventures, and it's predominantly the production combined with his ability to craft a specific vibe. There are rarely, if ever, moments in Ross's albums where the listener is jolted from the album's overall vibe by an out of place beat, jarring skit, or drastic change in on-record persona.

I don't think the guy is an incredible rapper in the sense that his raps are in any way deep or particularly witty or his rhyme patterns are super impressive, but he sure knows how to make an album. Plenty of rappers with big budgets fail at the ability to make a great album, and even more fail to do it time after time. Ross hasn't really made a weak album yet. Which I think is even more impressive, because over the last 5 years or so, critics, and a lot of the rap world in general, has been waiting to pounce on him for his first minor misstep (due to Officer Ricky thing + the fact that everybody hates rooting for the guy who's on top, and would rather see a new "underdog" take over).
yeah, dude IS cinematic. the same way Hollywood is full of fake fucks pretending to be villians, gangstas, tough guys, etc. is the same way hip hop is full of fake fucks pretending to be villains, gangstas and tough guys but they are really rich ass delicate little douchebag divas who rent their bodyguards and assemble their crew like shopping for car accessories.

There is NO difference between Rick "William Leonard Roberts" Ross and Joe Pesci or Arnold Schwarzenegger or Ray Liotta or Harvey Keitel or any other person pretending to be something they are completely not, and projecting the image of some hardcore violent criminal in an artistic fashion for the public's imaginary consumption.

Yes: Rick Ross picks beats and recycles gangsta rap cliches PAR EXCELLENCE.

What a remarkable man. Leader of the the true school. Shining star in our culture. A wonderful teacher for the youth. A bonafied legend in the annals of masters of ceremony. An icon of bonafied street-hop crime on the levels Kool G. Rap, Schoolly D and Cool C. And a street king worthy of mention in the same breath as Ice-T, MC Ren and Scarface.

I'm finna go light up something green, and listen to this 'Diced Pineapples' shizz, see if my brother Drake murders Ross on his own shit.

I sold drugs for real, and I have teenage friends in jail for murder, for real.
Fuck this fake ass bullshit. I'ma listen to this album, and see where the state of frankenstein gangstaness is in 2012. This guy is not an MC or a SONGWRITER. He's a smoke and mirrors magician, and without the million dollar Justice League beats, he'd be the last Guerilla Black or the next Gravy. He's actually just the Miami version of Game when Game had Dr. Dre riding for him, and all the hot ass production obscured the fact that the MC was a lying piece of shit.

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time. - Bob Marley

gangsta rap is outta control.

peace to Step One, B. Ware and Req and Jason Gloss. Mindbender loves you all :ironmike:

i never said that. and if anything, rich white people take more of their daily language from poor black people than ever before, thanks to hip hop culture's global proliferation.

still: i give more props to Jay-Z for boycotting Cristal after they said their ignorant ass shit, even though i have reasonable doubts that Jay cares about the power of his money helping black American business thrive the way he could.

Rozay isn't that socially responsible, politically astute, or fundamentally intelligent.

laughable.

I sold weed to MANY famous rappers you listen to, and I did this for 7 years. At the end of my weed-selling days, I was moving a quarter pound a week. 4 ounce bags every seven days, nothing less. Then, I got the girl, grabbed the money and ran to Cuba when I retired.

and Mark Williams was a very close friend of mine:
The murder trial of Keith Edwards, Mark Williams and John Richardson

Of the 23 homicides that took place in 1995, the killing of Vanier teenager Sylvain Leduc was arguably the most horrific.

Mr. Leduc, 17, was asphyxiated and beaten to death in an apartment at 33 Banner Rd. in Nepean on Oct. 26, 1995.

Keith Edwards, Mark Williams and John Richardson are charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Mr. Leduc.

Justice Douglas Rutherford last week began hearing motions on the case. It will be several weeks before a jury is chosen to hear the evidence.

----

In October 1995 McCuaigג€™s grandson Sylvain Leduc, two of his female cousins and his best friend were kidnapped from his apartment, bound, gagged, beaten and tortured by a dozen Ace Crew gang members, most of them young offenders.

Leduc didnג€™t know any of the gang members, and heג€™s the only one who died.

John Richardson, Kurton Edwards and Mark Williams were convicted of first-degree murder in 1998 and are still behind bars.

Theyג€™re eligible for full parole in 10 or 11 years, but could have partial parole as soon as the new year.

The other victims of the kidnapping were all hospitalized for mental trauma, and one of the girls is still afraid to go outside on her own.
