Studio monitors

I'm checking out active monitors and the Adam A7X looks pretty ill but I'm hoping to spend ~$500 instead of ~$700-$750 on the A7X. Any recommendations?

I don't want a shitty $500 speaker or pair though, I'll spring the extra $200 if it's a big difference.

i used the yamaha hs80m's for a few years and loved them. also heard the smaller versions are real nice.

+1 on the yamaha hs80s (or even hs50s)

but just get the ADAMs
