So this is what his career has come to? His only new '11 track courtesy of EA Sports? This is going backwards. Ludacris had a career from doing Madden but that was before he was Luda.

Track is horrible too.

I kinda like the beat. Jay is not rapping anything special on it, but it's decent, but in no way is it worth a one year wait. I could take this song if it was on an album, but waiting a year to hear a new song and then listening to this is the epitome of underwhelming.

There was also this track that Jay did with Lucy Liu and Seal's brothers -

I don't understand how shit like this gets past the rappers, the engineers, the managers, the tastemakers they share it with and no-one says "oh hay, this beat is fucking horrible and makes no-one want to listen to what you just said"

if you guys like the record, you're gonna LOVE Jay Electronica's response!
i wouldnג€™t have believed it myself if i hadnג€™t experienced it.

within just 24 hours, i wrote a record to give away online, summoned the legendary Infamous Mobb Deep via out of the blue tweets and we released a record together. I became a trending topic Worldwide within 3 minutes of its release and actually penetrated radio. Just heard the news that the Great Zane Lowe will premiere the record in the United Kingdom tonight as ג€˜The Hottest Record In The Worldג€.

All of the above is attempted daily by major music corporations who have teams of ppl spending excessive amounts of money and still fall short of the goal. My methodology is apparently much better.

iג€™d like to take this time to quote my mom ג€¦ג€thats pretty damn good son!ג€

i guess it is.

and this isnג€™t even a single.

or even a song from my album.

its just a dope ass beat, with some (extra) dope rhymes from me and 2 of My favorite hip hop artists of all time, who woke up yesterday not even knowing theyג€™d be on a record with me a few hours later.

Look at the atmosphere all in a stir.

if i were too bigheaded, right now is probably where i would say, ג€œdog, look around. Iג€™m The Fucking Man!ג€
good thing iג€™m not too bigheaded.

sigh is right

Track should have been on par with Exhibit A/C after all this wait, was barely listenable.

:naswtf: at all these enablers. Any and all backlash is warranted at this point.

I think this might just be performance art : Jay Electronica obviously saw the Mindbender Loves You art gallery video on Youtube and tried to create something that's as much of a cacophonous mess as that, with an accompanying delusionally narcissistic Mindbender-esque missive about foreign radio djs, hip hop idols and his mother.

This can be said for most songs and most rappers.

Conclusion? Rappers are fucking STUPID and their high school drop out weed carriers are no better.

Listen, this song isn't good. He's sleep walks through his verses and the beat is pretty mediocre. But aside from IDL and Vinylpops (who've stood strong on their hate for him from the jump) , don't you think yall are being a bit extreme here? It's a shitty song. Sure. You're (his fans) really willing to write the dude off over this? A song he obviously threw together over a poorly conceived beat that not nearly as bad as you guys are making it out to be.

Backlash like mutherfucker.

i'm not writing him off at all. i said "sigh" as in "god why can't you grind something commensurate with your talent level because when you do i fucking think you're the best but when you do shit like this all it makes me do is exhale disappointed"

^Not referring to one person but really to the entire thread. and, for real, the video Chaz posted is a billion times worse and way more depressing for what may be coming in the future from Jay.

^^ i agree with you, but at the same time he's kinda asking for it. it's almost like he's consciously going out of his way to destroy any good will people had for him. i still think the dude has crazy potential and some great music in him, but he's not doing much to reinforce my confidence in his abilities

In fact you can make the argument that all he is at this point is everything everyone else hates about Mindbender.

But he so happens to have the cosign of Hip Hop's foremost bisexual beat maker and Jay- "I have so much loot I don't even put effort into it anymore" Z.
