It wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. Hard to call this a full strength Pool side when of our best two players one is doesn't have match fitness, and the other is out till late Sept. I don't care if the Gunners are a weakened squad, that's a y p not an m p, all that matters is we went to the Emirates and took 3 points. On to the next one.

I wouldn't care either. The comment was directed at those who might make the mistake of assuming Liverpool is superior to Arsenal.VideoKilledThe wrote:It wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. It's still all guesswork at this point, we'll see 36 games from now.VideoKilledThe wrote:As currently constructed we are better than you, but surely Wenger is about to splash the cash, right? Is Nasri going or not?
And no. Wenger isn't likely to buy anymore players, like he said in his post-match interview, we have 8 players in the squad who couldn't play today. There's too many players in the squad as it is, and Bendtner and Nasri staying looks more and more likely every passing day. It's been confirmed we've made bids for a few players but apparently we've withdrawn interest during negotiation.
We're the only top club making money every summer

Liverpool ARE better than Arsenal right now. Hardly guesswork when they just beat you on your own ground. Cards or not, there's certainly more evidence supporting my claim than yours right now.Comedy Quaddafi wrote:It's still all guesswork at this point, we'll see 36 games from now.VideoKilledThe wrote:As currently constructed we are better than you, but surely Wenger is about to splash the cash, right? But it IS very early yet. If Arsenal get some more players and/or Nasri stays they've got a shot, but with no major additions they're likely to finish 5th or 6th.

Evidence? LOL! Liverpool beat a 10-man reserve team with Van Persie, Sagna and Vermaelen yesterday - only breaking the deadlock from an own-goal which was offside to begin with. I wouldn't read anything in to it... at all.
Nvm that none of us know the abilities of the unknown quantities in the squad, Ryo, Ox and Campbell. If one or two of them can pull a "Wilshere" and break out as a world-class player in their first season then who knows... too many unanswered questions yet to make a meaningful assessment of who is better.
Kenny is a greasy orc by the way "oh it's been ____ since they won a trophy!" - when are we gonna repeat that mantra when talking about Liverpool? You can't be riding high on a fluke-win in the CL back in 2005 forever, you know. Not sure why they catch a break from the media and pundits.

Theo actually had more assists and goals than Nasri last season, playing half as much or something like that. He scores really classy goals though [Nasri] which is what generated the hype I guess. Hes a passenger in bigger games and has a suspect attitude in general - as a few French NT-players have already hinted at. Good riddance.

You guys rate Honda? I think hes the business from what I saw in the world cup, destroyed the Danish defense and generally played with real energy and courage. Hes been pushing for a move since January so I wouldn't be too surprised to see him move somewhere this week. Apparently somewhat of an idol in Japan, would boost shirt-sales massively for whoever brings him in. Bet.
