But yeah, I used to tape this show when it started in, I think, late 97(?). DJ Eli, Kinetic (from Arsonists) and maybe Vas or someone else.. Yeah, there's actually a good bunch of tracks that they played that Bob wasn't playing at the time. They put me onto tracks like "Example - Slow Motion", "L Roneous - L Chemy", and quite a few others. Looking at that now I'm seeing that they played good shit from more different regions besides the NYC/NJ area.

The break sets were very ill, too. Eli hipped me to maaaad breaks and samples back then. Not just everyday JB shit but stuff that probably wound up on break/funk comps later on.

these were made 7-8 years ago on my old cdj thing i had, back then i didnt understand the recording volume and all of that so thats why some sound distorted. but i got better with that problem as they came along.

I think i have 2 shows which were just DJ ELI (one of the host dj's) and DJ MURO (as guest dj) playing breaks and soul/funk music,but i'd have to look again.

I think the show was only on from 1997-99..

They played hip-hop,breaks and rare grooves..

This tape isn't hip hop the way that most people think of hip hop but at the same time it's closer to pure hip hop than anything in most peoples collections.

If you don't get it do some research.


I love this tape. I only have a few like it & this is probably my second favorite (Doo Wop 'Coolout' being #1).
The tape reminds me of a BBQ with your whole fam. It's pretty much exactly how I would do my family reunion.

Basically this is a tape of classic 70's & 80's R&B.
Everything from Patrice Rushen to DeBarge.

Thanks for this. Unfortunately, your levels are somewhat off, and the sound is pretty distorted throughout - I couldn't listen to it for very long.
