Welcome to the best of both worlds. Now that Eminem and Royce Da 5ג9″ are back on the same page, the pair are set to release an EP inspired by their 1999 collaboration, Bad Meets Evil. The project is set to drop on June 14th through Interscope and will feature production from D-12′s Mr. Porter, Havoc, DJ Khalil, Bangladesh and others. Hereגs what Em had to say:
גRoyce and I started hanging out again and inevitably that led us back into the studio. At first we were just seeing where it went without any real goal in mind, but the songs started to come together crazy, so here we are.
As for Royce:
גIגm excited to see this project come to fruition considering the long lapse in time between when we worked before and now. We had a blast doing it and we just hope everyone enjoys it while weגre working on the גMonsterג that will be the Slaughterhouse album. #TeamShadyג
The modern Royce is near the best Royce there is, but the 2003 Royce was also sick ("We Ridin'" ~ "the hype man that came in to blaze shit/ brought in by the white man like I came on a slave ship!" )
history: better late than never made.
it's better than this exists than doesn't. eff da hate.
peace to Royce and Em for deading the bullshit and making music together

If it's going to be whiny Em paired with a guy who likes multis and has zero personality and presence, then no thanks. This might bring out the Em we heard on Underground but I wouldn't count on it and you can bet it will have those soulless mechanical beats with weak drums and some predictable instrument stabs. 5% chance of being good, 15% chance it will be worth a listen.
Disagree about it being a good thing when it's likely to suck. Who wants to hear good artists making shitty music just because they were dope a decade ago? There are plenty of new rappers who rap with passion and skill and feel they have a point to prove, so why overlook them and give the chance or even $ to people who don't deserve it?
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

It's amazing that somebody actually has to take the time to type this out. How deluded of a dickrider do you have to be to think otherwise?

I would rather hear Royce and Em do a record together over quite a few up and comers.
My hope is that the two of them working together again will inspire both to come correct.
Call it wishful thinking, but Im not going to completely count them out before I hear anything.
