Can't wait for tomorrow (and the next 17 days really). But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous as hell. I think Barcelona can win the series, but I definitely dont think they'll win every game, and even if they lose only one it could be incredibly costly especially if its one of the CL ties. I agree with Cruyff's principle that we only need to win the second and fourth matches, but I would wager that that's not how Guardiola will approach the series.

Tactically, I'm interested to see how Guardiola puts out the team at the back and in DM, both tomorrow, but also going forward. I guess Puyol just started training again so maybe he gets into at least one of these games, but if he can't we're looking at Busquets, Keita, and Mascherano (please no Milito!) for those spots, which makes me a little queasy.

It'll also be interesting to see how Mourinho puts out his team. There have been suggestions that he might try a 4-3-2-1, or go out with two left backs (Arbeloa and Marcelo) to try and cope with Alves, or even start Pepe at DM, with Albiol at the back.

Whatever. Let's do this.

@CQ: Viktor Fischer signed to Ajax today. Small fee (1,3M iirc). We're happy.

Good to hear about the kid. Hope hes going to the U21 this summer.

Dropping point in spite of going ahead in the 98th minute, only Arsenal could have hit the self-destruct button like that. Eboue should have known Lucas would stop his run and go for the dive.

If Sir Fungus had Arsenal's squad then Arsenal would have won the title before Christmas. The players are more than good enough, but it looks like Wenger has problems motivating them and making the right match-day decisions. Looks a beaten man, love the guy, but it's not working out right now.

To turn the argument around, who isn't good enough from the first 11? Maybe Clichy, maybe Koscielny, possibly Song - these three have had ups&downs, the rest are without doubt good enough for any side.

lol, you still don't get it. It has a lot less to do with the talent on your team and a lot more to do with their headspace. Ryan Giggs is probably not as talented as 10 out of your 11 players, but his value in a title race is worth about 3 or 4 of them. That's what I was saying.

So much diving and crying for cards in yesterday's final, shit is disgusting.

For stretches of the game Ozil was Madrid's best player, just like he was on Saturday. You can see the Ronaldo for player of the year campaign starting to rev up, and rightfully so. Was cool to see Mourinho after the match getting tossed in the air by a group full of giddy stars.

If Madrid could finish the job and knock Barca out of CL it would be an incredible string of results few thought possible.

Schalke really should feel lucky to have only lost 2-0, the final could have been way waayyy worse.
