this album has grown on me A LOT

it's amazingly produced. such good quality. such good sense of structure. there are a grip of really solid to great songs. flava of the day for me is the 'why i love you' track. that hook is so awesome. that decision to make the 2nd half of the hook just go up octave(s) is so subtly sick.

Truthfully, no, it isn't.

It's like an hour or whatever of listening to the late-90's Mick Jagger in skinny jeans and a blazer trying to rap over a coked up Scott Storch doing his worst 'Kanye West if Kanye West used only synths" impression. Where they each are in their respective careers should have been enough cause to challenge each other creatively. But none of that is present. The worst kind of self-indulgence is to hold their combined clout and wind up with an end product that could have just as easily been recorded in the tornado shelter-converted-to-a-studio belonging to a lottery winning wigger in the bowels of the lower Midwest.

I like people who identify this as "Adult Rap" or "IKEA preferred."
