Show went hard straight out the gate. Really appreciate the addition of the opening scene - nice barometer to let people know what they're in for, and incentive to stop watching early if they can't handle it because shit definitely will get a lot worse... assuming they stick to the source material.
The disemboweled bitch with no legs was especially creepy.
I've never read the graphic novels, can someone fill me in on how much time was supposed to have lapsed between the main dude getting shot and when he wakes up?

About a month or so, but in the show it is less based on the flowers.

that said, i liked the first episode a lot and will be watching the rest.
Well not everyone's facial hair grows at the same rate. If anything thats wrong with the idea of it, its him going without food or water without waking up/dying for such a long period of time.
Anyways, nitpicking is pointless as this premier was the best zombie-related viewing experience in quite some time.
Pretty awesome premier. Didn't know anything about it till a friend asked me if I was tuning in on my fb last night. Enjoyed it. The bitch crawling in the park was awesome.

if you are going to nitpick, i would be nitpicking on "where did he come up on them matches he had in the stairwell???"

He picked them up on the receptionist's desk right after he tried to use the phone.

גThe Walking Deadג Premiere was the Most Watched Show in AMC History
Posted on Monday, November 1st, 2010 by Peter Sciretta
LiveFeed is reporting that AMCגs 90-minute series premiere of The Walking Dead was a gigantic win with not only the largest numbers in AMCגs history (well above Breaking Bad and Mad Men), but the largest 18-49 audience of any series premiere on any cable network this year. An estimated 5.3 million viewers watched the debut episode, and it scored 3.3 in the coveted adults 18-49 demo.
i really enjoyed the first episode. looking forward to the next one already. if they stay with the source material, this show could be epic. props to alaska and others for recommending the graphic novel in the other thread.
Picked up the first graphic novel after watching the premiere. Looks like they took only the best parts for the show. The way show has presented and setup things so far is much, much better.
At the beginning of the graphic novel there is this weird rant/intro by the author about how the best Zombie movies make us question the fabric of our society. Also how he wants to create a sprawling epic of a zombie movie that never ends or lasts a very long time.
