Fucking Bobbito, all the times I've spoken to him he can't get the name right. I'm glad Stretch corrected him. Huge props to both you and Verge btw. You guys deserve it.

Hahah, I knew that'd get to you. Bob mispronounces actual words all the time though (this show included). It almost plays like a typical Stretch and Bob-esque promo, like they planned it or somethin'.

Thanks man.

128 CBR, webrip, you're gonna have to wait a little bit for a cassette version and / or the official one on Squeeze Radio's site.

Wow, I tried to stay up man, I really did. I was out cold by from what I remember 1:25. I'm up every day at 6:30 and have responsibilities that really prevented me from staying up.

Shouts to Philaflava, Verge, Nes, Sleep, Hectic and all of us. I'm glad you guys got the props you deserved.

Can't wait to listen to this when it finishes downloading.

Sleep, is the link you posted the full show?

Here is my recording from last night..straight off the radio in mono..recorded on my Harmon Kardon CDR 20..Missed some minutes when changing CD's, especially around 3:40am-3:50am when I was half asleep..Got till about 5:20am with three 80 minute discs..Hopefully the whole six hours is posted in it's entirety uninterrupted as rumored..I must say it was an out of body experience hearing the Big L/Jay-Z freestyle that was ripped from my tape played as part of the intro to the show..I'm on cloud 9 today..but crazy tired..Peace to the entire Philaflava massive!

Thanks man. I linked to a couple places that have the full show up (all the same rip except for this new one by Hectic) as well as a quick snippet of our shout outs.

Here's the full show for all those who still need to check it:

Yeah, file size has a direct correlation to bitrate (and vice versa). There's no way a five hour segment of audio is that small a file and 320 CBR.

It's typical for widespread files to be lowered in quality to increase download speed and preserve space and it's common for streams to max out at 128 CBR, along with radio feed broadcasts and most webrips in general, so it's to be expected.

Feel free to up a better version if it's truly the full show, I'm sure that'd be appreciated.

  all around to everybody. Everybody deserved it for all the work they put in. All the hours of taping, all the years of preserving the tapes, all the work in digitizing them, all the love for sharing them, all the work in organizing them, and all the time, work, money and love involved in hosting a site like this..
I'll tell you, I've been having a bad couple of days, but this just sparked me back up. That's a part of what the show did for a lot of us back in the day, growing up in rough areas, through tough times, you always knew you had Thursday nights to look forward to. And trees and alcohol. Lol.. Not speaking for others, just sayin.

I suck. I fell asleep somewhere after midnight, with the radio on and ready to tape. I only had two 90 minute tapes anyway, though. I guess out of habit from back then, I would usually use two 90 minute tapes so I never had any actual full shows.
I do have reasons for falling asleep though. I'm just disappointed that I missed it live, but I will listen tonight.

I fell asleep too last night, but I knew somebody online would have the show recorded and save me the trouble. It's good to hear them reminisce and having a good time, it makes me appreciate life more to hear what they made out of so little resources and good friendships.

90 minute tapes? You need to try one of these, for about $100 it can save you alot of getting up to press record or flip a tape due to the mad amount of recording time. Once I got one of these I haven't looked back to cassettes since:

Or you could just download some freeware audio recording app like Cacophony and record to your hard drive. I use these techniques for Halftime Show and Underground Railroad

Thanks man. Yeah I figured that was at best. It was broadcast at 128 but actually was lower than that due to funding and server issues I'm sure.

He mentioned it on his blog:

http://konstantkontakt.blogspot.com/200 ... 02893.html

There was a thread that led to this write up:

http://www.thetroyblog.com/2008/10/02/a ... at-reborn/

Stretch even commented on it originally, when it was the T.R.O.Y. Blogger:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... =firefox-a
The Nas freestyle was from the Stretch Armstrong Show. The CM Fam Show became the name of the show after I decided to not do KCR anymore in the ate 90's. And yes, the beat in question is something that I had cookied up earlier that day on my Casio FZ-1. When Nas and I were looking through my crate to figure out what he would rock over, I put the headphones on him and asked him what he thought. He dug it, not just because it was his flavor, but because it wasn't from a record. After reading the threads from various forums on this highly esoteric topic, I wondered, and still wonder, why nobody just straight up asked me what the beat was.

OK I've recorded the 5 hours directly from the WKCR real audio stereo stream into wav. It had a better quality here in old Europe than the "normal" mp3 mono stream. After about 30 minutes, I had a short interruption of about 30 seconds due to connection problems of my internet provider. After that, the last 4 and a half hours were working without interruptions. I splittet it into 3 parts. For me the sound quality is ok. There are only 30 seconds missing.
I gonna convert the wav file into mp3 128 kbps and upload it. So we can compare which is the better version. But I hope that somebody in NYC recorded it directly from FM stereo into 128 or higher kbps mp3 ;)

Sound quality aside, this is the definition of dope!

This is making my all day marking session rather enjoyable.

hmm i saved it as a 24bit/44.1khz wav and encoding it in lame v0 would bring it up to 220-260kpbs/vbr ..but yeah just high quality shitty recording

No matter if the record session has 260 or 128 kbps if the stream is lower than that. Did you also use the real audio stream? I was surprised that this was working very well here in Europe for about 5 hours. That made this S&B reunion day more than perfect.
