Sounds similar to this

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PKsTKWzMR8w?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PKsTKWzMR8w?fs ... 2=0x54abd6" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I need help in identifying these two songs (I only know hooks)

First song interpolates hook to Marvin Gaye's I Want You... Hook (sung by a female) goes somethin' like this: Nigga I warned you/to stay out of my way
It's got a kinda dark/melancholic feel to it and I think it's from the 90's midwest/west coast area.

The second one is a mid 90's indie record from Philly (which I got a rip of but can't find it) and the hook goes somethin' like this: We gotta get paid/get that M-O-N-E-Y/it's do-or-die/the stakes are high/in the P-H-I-Double L-Y

One question about The Deerhuntaz, help please...

Post by Mr. J Selectah »

Hey...i've been trying to identify one single track, that appears to be in one of Alkuttraz mixes (http://alkuttraz.blogspot.com/2009/02/d ... eason.html), from the Crates of AG blogspot...i have this folder on my files called "The Deerhuntaz, Hunting season", 2009, one of those mixes with a follow-up kind of format, no split tracks...but besides the title "The hunting season", they have a bunch of other mixes, and shit is messing me up...ok, so to be more precise on this, the track i'm looking for is actually a track that appears in of The Wire series episode, season n.1 ...for anyone familiar on that, there's this episode, i believe 6 or 7, where the character "Stinkum" is under surveillance by detective McNulty or Sydnor, can't remember, but it's a part where the they make their first arrest over the Avon Barksdale case, better yet, they cease a youngin over a g-pack for re-up...the track appears while "Stinkum" keep on driving through the projects, without knowing he's beeing followed...sorry for the fucked up explanation, but that's the only reference i have from this track, besides the Alkuttraz mixtape, the thing is, some tracks are not identified on the specific mix, so i don't how to identify the track...i'm sure i've heard the mcs voice before and the sound has a dark atmosphere...i would appreciate if someone could help me out on this...

Track ID thread, I'm merging this to there.
Is this track from that exact Deerhuntaz Hunting Season mix? I do remember Insight or Akrobatik having a track played on the first season of The Wire.

Oh so here it is, i was starting to think one of the mods deleted my post...i'm not sure Verge, the mix says "hunting season", 2009, and it's split into the Alkuttraz part and the DJ Handjob part ...it's in the first part...but hey check in here...

http://www.mediafire.com/?63a7a96lyj560d6

It's on the Alkuttraz side, track number 6, you'll notice that dark vibe right away...however definitly no relation to Akrobatik or Insight, unless the voice is confusing me all up...

Ok cool, then it should be Sharpshooters featuring Four Fifths on the rhymes - "Analyze". They let people guess the tracks in the comments and then the list the ones that have been guessed correctly.
http://alkuttraz.blogspot.com/2009/02/d ... eason.html
I'll listen when it finishes downloading though and see if that's correct. If it is, here's a link to the album it's on:
http://www.discogs.com/Sharpshooters-Ch ... ase/753312
http://flageolette.blogspot.com/2009/06 ... hadow.html
Someone mentions in the comments at the above blog that it was indeed on The Wire, so that gotta be it.
Great track. I've been debating on grabbing that LP for a minute now. Not many if any joints as dope as that on it, though.

On another note... I have two more queries....this time sample based...

Does anyone know what the sample is from Problemz by Street Smartz?... I read on youtube it's a Jorge Dalto sample... if this is correct does anyone know the title of the track?

And my second question is Does anyone know the sample to Rampage's The Set Up?, also sampled in Going Home skit by J Dilla, if that helps.

Slow version..

Damn right, you see Verge, why i insisted on this track...shit got me :ohsh: , i would love to get an instrumental version for that and writte some lyrics over it, the dark mood set it off...thank you for the research, great track indeed, and thanks for the album...i've just been on discogs and noticed they have an early 1994 EP, i'll try to get it...
Yeah CrimeFamily, the faster version is the one from the Wire, from the part i've mentioned in season one...and you're right, but the Wire is more than a great show, it's simply the best ever...from all the HBO shows...

PS: By the way Verge, see if you can go to the Dope Samples fixed post and help me out, i would be most interested on knowing more on that Del The Funky Homosapien sample...it's a very hard one.

No doubt, Mr. J Selectah, I'll head back over to that thread in a second. I finally did order a copy of that Sharpshooters LP with Analyze on it. Thanks for reminding me of the joint.

@Ziekefons: Sorry, no clue. But Flex did do some of his own beats, actually I believe he did do a good amount of production so it could've been a beat he did just for that session.

@Large Marvin: That's a great question, man. I would definitely think it could be a Jorge Dalto sample or any other Latin Sergio Mendes type of artist. Probably on CTI or A&M. Sorry, that's all I could think of but do let me know if you find out and I'll keep my ears open too.

I've been looking for a Method Man radio(?) freestyle for a while. It's gotta be from some time in the 90's. I can't really remember when exactly. The only thing I know about it are some of the lyrics:

"roll that shit, light that shit, smoke it
make that loot black man and stay focused
whoever said that nigga tical can't bring the dope shit
clog up their arteries quick, overdosage"

or some such shit. I'm quoting from memory on a freestyle I haven't heard in at least a decade. LOL

If anyone remembers where it's from or has a copy of it I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks.

There was a song I downloaded and threw on CD for my car but I can't find it for shit. It may have been off a schenectadyfan comp or just a random 12. I really thought it was Eddie Meeks and thareeko, but I can't find anything from them that is it.
All I remember is a couple of lines and I'm sure I'm slightly wrong about the exact lines:

"Man, it's cold outside....shit, nigga there's SNOW outside. Man, I don't even wanna GO outside.............."
Anybody?
Definitely not NY or NJ accents.

I'm looking for a song with the hook sampling Method Man's line "when I'm good, I'm good, when I'm bad, I'm better" from "I Get My Thang In Action"

I know I have that song, but can't place it..

Large Pro/Neek the Exotic, some other dude and a girl rapping all on the same song..There's no hook in the song.

I found this song in my downloads and forgot where i got it from..

The quality of the audio is bad and it sounds like it's from the late 90's.

The song has hard hitting drums..The song is not on Neek's album or any Large Pro album..

Anyone know what song this is and is there a high quality version available?

Thank's for any help!

Not too rare, man:
http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?releas ... 1128&ev=rb
Personally, I've never seen it diggin or even back in the days, but it doesn't seem to be too high priced nowadays.
EDIT: My bad, I only looked at the first price and that copy is not in great condition. A bit on the pricey side indeed, just not uber rare, though.
