A promotional forum?

Does this place really get that much traffic? I only see a handful of posters posting here the majority of the time. Some days M2C can go postless for a whole day even. I can't imagine another board making this any "better".

You haven't even been for a year yet. The answer is yes. Visitors (lurkers) are traffic and while M2C has taken a hit this year due to horrible posters and self-promotion I really don't see how ANYONE would be opposed to moving all of that shit to another forum.

As for the current state of M2C, well it is only as good as its posters. If you can make the difference, go for it.

Horrible posters get people talking, it gets boards moving. Maybe not in a good way but that's traffic, unless they're getting suspended/banned for being shitty posters. And while I do see promotion, I rarely see any self-promotion here so the mods are doing their job perfectly. But I get what you're saying. I'm just saying Mac Lethal tried something similar to this at his forum and it backfired on him, he ended up closing the board down.

Check The Rhime probably gets more traffic than Mac Lethal's forum all together. The numbers really dipped this year for Philaflava but this gives you an idea of our traffic.

Rappers and promoters can be both at fault if they aren't professional. Even if rappers don't have fans, promoters doing shit like screwing artists out of their performance time and money is unacceptable (example: showcases promising major label scouts showing and its all a front just to make money and dip). Especially if the artists has done all they can to help the promoter promote the show. Or better yet, if there's barely any money involved......the principle alone on that is bad. I don't know how you do shit in TX., chump, but if the promoter is shady, it shows. Pre-madonna rappers who take advantage of the promoter, their colors show. Not helping to promote the show, definitely rappers fault for expecting to have a built-in crowd off the break. When there is no fanbase.

People who support the community here should have a chance to showcase their music in the main hip hop music forum.

Locking threads for people posting is wack as fuck, period. If your music is interesting, like self or keenone or Cadence Weapon, then people will check it. If people don't check it, keep it moving. But don't lock the threads. It's not like TONS of people post their own stuff here, look at the forum right now. Is there 15 sub-indie unsigned rappers flooding the board? NO. So stop lording over the shit like kids are spamming.

I'm all for it. Probably make M2C a lot better. Only people who will check the promotional forum will be the people posting music. I'll check it once in awhile though because people like Selfsay and OME are dope.
