can't front like I know a lot about metal and this is more than likely :lastweek: as fuck but this band and the concept behind the album is pretty serious.

love the song and the HP Lovecraft hook is metal as fuck. album is about 3 years old but its good.

Cough are old friends. we played with them a few times back in 08 i think. One time I remember this show back when i was booking shows in this sketchy old fogey bar. It looked like the land time forgot with old school pictures on the walls and geriatric hookers drinking straight no chase at the bar. I remember it was during hurricane season and a storm was hitting. All the power went out during Coughs set but the drummer kept going for about another ten minutes and they finished their set with a valiant drum/vocal combo for the dozen or so people left. I dig Cough but just like alot of the stoner doom sludge bands we have played with Id rather catch them live.

I very rarely pick up any recent Doom. I still havent heard the new Bison or Black Tusk. Ive heard them when other people play them around me but lately ive been on a strong Power Violence and Grindcore kick for about the last year.

if your in the mood for some really awesome Sludge check out the legendary band DYSTOPIA.

Im really excited to hear the new Nachtmystium after what people are saying.

if you are talking about are there any more sabbathy doom bands there are like a billion

if you want doomy japanese bands there's boris

if you want a band that only talks about serial killers then you want (one of the best bands ever) Macabre, who play death/thrash with a nice dose of comedy.

Check out their albums "Dahmer" and Murder Metal"

funny quote from blake:

ג€œIt was a totally different session,ג€ he says. ג€œBasically we used all the money for this one on the studio time and getting people flown out, getting things paid forג€¦Assassins was a fucking drug fiesta, it was like our Volume Four, like Sabbathג€™s shit about ג€˜so much cocaine we donג€™t even remember days or recording this.ג€™ Thatג€™s what Assassins was like, and this recording was incredibly sober because we had no money for drugs or alcohol, it was all eaten up by the recording costs. [Laughing]ג€

I played the shit out of Houses of the Unholy around new years. Great record. Don't really know a lot of similar stuff, except for Sabbath and classic shit like that. You might like the new Suma.

been appreciating the fuck out of Torche - Meanderthal lately.

brilliantly crafted, a far cry from anything else they have done stylistically and really different, unique and complex in terms of the genre and style.

every time i put on that album it makes me feel happy and want to squeeze some titties. I also have these weird daydreams of swimming in an olympic size pool. Meanderthal is one of my favorite albums of the last 5 years. Flawless in my opinion and plays all the way through every time its put on. I bought a copy of the "Healer" 12inch that came with music videos on a dvd. They all dress up in furry costumes and run away from Domo lookin monster dudes.

I'm really enjoying it so far. Will need to listen to it again, but I think this is up there with Dances of Death.

Been trying to find a link for the new Godless Rising - Trumpet of Triumph, but so far no luck.

The good metal folk of the :phila: wouldn't happen to have an upload :gyeah: ?

I've read some reviews and apparently it destroys shit.

Dude, that's pretty gangsta.

Agree that those tools diminish the impact of the photo, but I guess it got all awkward and someone was like "Hey, you guys jump in here too."

It is Repka.

It was mandatory to get a Repka back patch, but didn't want something everyday like Peace Sells or whatever. It was a toss up between this album and Sanctuary - Refuge Denied.

Also, got my girl's aunt to sew it for me. ganksta.

Im guessing you would really like Baroness - Blue, or Baroness - Red for that matter.

Id highly recommend giving Torche - Meanderthal a few spins.

One time at one of those NJ metalfests, I asked this guy to take a picture of me and, Rob Rock, I think it was, who sang for Impelliteri and Warrior at some point, and his girlfriend was like "He's the singer from Blitzkreig, how about he gets in the picture and I take it."

I felt bad for the dude, it's like he's cool with no one recognizing him and was about to take the picture, but his girlfriend is not cool with it and is upset by the fact that people don't recognize her boyfriend, even though his only claim to fame is that he wrote a song metallica once covered.

Jello, catfish's recs are on point. If you haven't checked Bison's Dark Ages yet, first- fuck you, I've only recommended it a 100 times and second, do it.

DLG, that's when your friend should have chimed in- "I know what we'll do, I'll take the picture and you jump in and whip your tits out."
