Respect Due.

This is one of the first times that I'll be bumping a recently deceased artist's music, not just out of respect or remember them, but because I play their shit all the time, and will continue to do so.

So sad, especially for how it ended.

For the longest Gangstarr really did represent that true authentic sound, as one of the best yet. That's how I'll remember Guru.

I was just talking with my boy the other day about the complete lack of information being put forth, and how suspect it was. Sad and unfortunate to see one of the greats pass under such circumstances.

RIP Guru.

Damn, just heard about this. Sad news. It was cancer, and not heart problems. I'm surprised that was kept under raps all this time.

Man, never knew he had a falling out with Premo.

His relationship with Solaar was bizarre to say the least. I'm doubting the authenticity of the that statement. It doesn't ring true at all.

Don't know if this was posted, but its from March, and the only thing I could find in terms of Primo.

Definitely think the letter is a fraud written by Solar. Shit is disgusting, B.

That was the first :phila: shirt I ever made, way before the website. If there is enough demand I'll do it. I just don't want to join a very long list of biters, but it could us paying homage. I don't want to change the direction of this thread so I'll create a new thread in P&B to gauge interest.

Seems Hip-hop exists today only to annoy, disappoint or sadden us.

Guru's death is sad, not only because he was one of the best who ever did it (that's right) but because he died without accepting/realizing that we still wanted to talk about his Gang Starr days not to belittle him but because we'd incorporated the music he created along with DJ Premier into our lives. We partied to it, relaxed to it, consoled ourselves to it and just passed the time with it. For balding B-boys like myself, more than half my life is invested in Gang Starr's shit, it's part of my identity.

Death is end of consciousness, but also pain.
