Is there anything left to be said about this album? Its been written about and analysed so much its ridiculous.
The only thing that makes me think it might be worth a look is Bobbito's name on the cover.

The 33 and a 1/3 book on Illmatic is already out.
I'll cop these, of course, but I have a feeling it will only inspire me to write a response.

How is the the 33 and a 1/3 book? I never see them in the chain book stores, which is really my only local option.

It's not that good. Someone else should have written it, because it is full of inaccuracies.

if you read the XXL article on the making of it, then you're good. At the end it goes over the tracks in the same format with some different info from the XXL making of article, but I skipped everything else

my friend took a class that had the lyrics to NY state of mind printed out & annotated in the textbook
most of the annotations were to explain which gun nas was talking about
1. Nas
2. Drake
that's pretty much it fam.

His chapter is easily the best in the book. Many of the other contributors blatantly attempted to jack his style, with FAIL ensuing for the most part.

There's a Nelly video showing Nelly sliding a credit card through a girl's ass crack. Dyson wrote an essay about it. Does anyone have that shit? I've been Googlin' this and cannot find it.
He's also a pretentious douchebag.
