Prince destroyed that solo

As far as Slash goes, Estranged is one of my favorites not for the complexity but for the pure simplicity of it. Each note is perfect in my opinion.

Built To Spill "I Would Hurt A Fly" has a solo that I love

"Paranoid Android" is great as well

And yeah Maggot Brain is on some other shit too.

So many I can't think right now.

The thing with maggot brain for me is that now everytime I think about it or play it I shit knowing its one fucking take.
Eddie hazel was jesus with a strat.

Built to spill something I should check for sneed? Seen the new album errywhere? What do you recommend?

Yo chump, was that thread in rubin? Ill have to dig it up. Cool that some peoples picks aren't considered bangin by everyone while I'm sure I'd disagree with a few of the top 10.

I'm not necessarily a huge built to spill fan. i like a few songs. It's one of those bands you know you'll get into but haven't yet.

"I Would Hurt A Fly" has some great guitar work

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lo2I4geGGI0&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Lo2I4geGGI0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

"Teenage Riot" by Sonic Youth has guitar tones that just really hit me. It took me a while to get used to it, but the detuning is something I'm really into lately. Pavement really broke the ice in that aspect. Speaking of Pavement, one of my favorite songs of theirs that has really simple, sublime guitar work, which sometimes is better than "wanking" is "Grounded" from Wowee Zowee

you can check his youtube shit out if you want to be dazzled, the solo albums, I'm not sure how enjoyable they are to people who aren't guitar geeks. the subtlies make him amazing, how he phrases and moves harmonically through chords and modes.

Erotic Cakes is the album

I feel like posting some of these would be akin to posting Rakim verses in a greatest verse thread or something.
