Lynch leaves 'Party' for 'Glee'
Actress stays with new Fox fall series

Jane Lynch won't be returning to the second season of Starz comedy "Party Down" because of her commitment to Fox fall series "Glee," the actress told Daily Variety.
Starz had hoped that schedules could be coordinated to accommodate the busy actress, but efforts fell short.
"I t looks like I can't do the second season," Lynch said. "So I'm not happy about that all ... but I'm in 'Glee,' so I'm thrilled about that."
Lynch described "Party Down" as "a blessed event."
Starz picked up a 10-episode second season of "Party Down" in May.

^^thats a bit of an exaggeration. Obviously Jane Lynch damn near steals everything shes a part of, but if season two gets another Kristen Bell cameo (as the finale may imply), Stiflers mom added on, Paul Rudd appearing, and Rob Thomas incorporating more of his famous friends (or even lowly Veronica Mars bit-players) into the mix, there shan't be any worry. I'm just be glad theres going to (still suprisingly) be another ten episodes to watch.

So...Megan Mullally is supposed to replace Jane...
[quote]Chicago native Jane Lynch will not be back on the Starz comedy "Party Down," but the show's creator, Rob Thomas, has found a worthy replacement in Megan Mullally.
Mullally, an Emmy and Golden Globe award-winner for playing wealthy alcoholic Karen Walker on "Will & Grace," joins the "Party Down" cast and crew when they begin filming Season 2 this month. It will air on Starz in April 2010.
When I interviewed Thomas earlier this year, he still had hope that he could convince Fox to allow Lynch to star in "Party Down" as well as the Fox series "Glee."
"We're begging and pleading with Fox to let her do our show but she had booked 'Glee' with Fox long before we even shot our first season. Now they've decided they don't want her to do another series," Thomas said. "We are pleading with them because our schedules don't overlap. There's no conflict in scheduling, it's just that they own her and can tell her she can't do other television."
Obviously Fox execs didn't change their minds. Lynch's deluded cater waiter and sometimes actress Constance is one for the ages now. It's too bad; she was unbelievably funny in it. (She's also diabolically hilarious as cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on "Glee.")
According to Starz, Mullally will play Lydia Dunfree, a middle-aged, small town mom who moves to Hollywood with her 13-year-old daughter, Escapade, who wants to become an actress. While Escapade goes out on auditions, Lydia works with the Party Down catering crew. She wrongly considers the oddball bunch to be Hollywood "pros."

handeth me the latest of late passes. just burned season one and watched that today and got 2 queued up as well.
definitely a funny show, and i guess thats why the ratings werent there. I came here to continue the Death to Glee talk. ive never seen the show but the commercials scare me. Jane Lynch needs her own show really, something less faggy with 95% less singing.
