"Playa Hata" all the way, I heard that joint on the Power Move Show(CKLN 88.1) back in 96 and found the CD used the next week, copped it off the strength of that song and I loved it!

Beatwise this has a special place in history.

yeah i was looking at Real Circus, Bent, and Joint Custody. Boxcar ends strong as fuck. Crazy beats and he took the flow up a notch to close it out.

Battle Drill is a monster tho..

Just Ridin was my shit back then. That and Hype Shit got on so many mixes.

Jay-Z and J-Groove got down on production on that whole album, he layered the shit outta samples like Muggs used to do. I wish the beat for Poke Martian would have been longer. My personal favorite though is "Can U feel Me".

BTW, I know its likely been discussed to death but did yall ever discuss or vote on the notorious Hiero-Hobo Wake-Up show battle. I did a search and couldn't find anything on Philaflava. Maybe I'm missing it, or bringing up a seriously tired topic, but I'm just curious what folks here think about who took it.

Saafir stomped Casual into oblivion, although it helps to actually prepare for a battle instead of coming exclusively off the top.

This album is definitely one of my "comfort albums" or whatever we called them in that blog piece/thread a few months back. I'll go with Light Sleeper but pretty much half of this album is on the highest plateau of hip-hop for me.

Classic shit. Saafir was one of the first emcees on the west coast to flip the script like that, his style was hella unique.

I'm a little surprised Can u Feel me is so high on everybody's list. I thought that was my special favorite.

I'm pretty much a huge sucker though for any track where the kicks don't drop for a while and then proceed to break dreams. Chamber Danger by gp wu and I Think I Know too Much by acey and elusive are also big favorites!
