I've never heard Berner do something I didn't like. I understand why others don't like him, though.

Berner feat Bun B - Got Work

Listen to this recent Jack interview. Talks about most everything you would want to hear him touch on right now.

I'm officially worried about Tear Gas as he's stated it's his best one yet.

push backs + artists claiming their best work ever is usually the precursor to a hot fucking mess.

There's also a good Jacka interview on youtube where he talks about Tear Gas, how they got in the game, what rappers they grew up on, Husalah's bid (he's killin' shit in the prison soccer team, apparently) and a lot of other stuff.

Part 1.

Other parts are in the links bar on the right. There's 5 parts.

Tonka Boyz is ok. Terrorist In The City, Two Door Mob and Sittin Tonka are nice. Some of it is very spotty.

Ahh, this is more like it. Some of this is silly, but Lee and Jacka crush verses and the majority of the beats are well done.

I'm sort of embarrassed for Jack on that cover. I know he's trying to do as many collabos and projects as possible to get his name out there but jeez..

In other news,

Image

is surprisingly good music. Came out in 2007, I didn't hear it until a couple months ago.

Ampichino really came into his own. I used to hate the cat

20 Bricks (HQ)

20 Bricks is of the highest quality. All music coming out of that area should be held to this standard.

important thread.

jacka is doing the fans wrong with all these album delays. anyone else feel like he's obsessing over sales & trying to build a "buzz" rather than just letting great independent music speak for itself? imo all his best releases have been collaborations (jack artist w/ rob lo, 36 zips w/ amp, etc.). maybe he really needs someone to executive produce his shit?

I can respect that he wants to bank considering how marketable he is. On the other hand, you won't ever get a buzz without putting out the album. If we're impatient we have like 8 collabo-lps and a chunkfull of mxtapes to listen to while we wait for this, if the lp is gonna be as good as it can be, i'll wait.

a. must be over 3 years this album has been delayed so far

b. be honest with yourself.. he really isn't that "marketable" (unless he had a dr. dre co-sign). all of jack's best songs are underground/lyrical/emotional/remorseful mobb music. he can sing & write hooks.. but that's far from the lane i want to see him in (personally). husalah would be a much better "star" if that's what we're talking

c. if the album turns out "as good as it can be".. i ultimately will not give a fuck. my concern is that with every delay he's making 5-10 shitty decisions

what i wish is that he'd just drop a full-length of raw pittsburg qu'ran/crack shit.. hustle hard (TOUR!) to reach a realistic goal of 20-50K.... then start working on a new mob figaz album.

Well if you're wishing for some new Jacka then I'm right there with you buddy. I am hoping hes making good decisions during the delay, but ultimately I wouldn't know.

Suprised to hear you think Hus has more mainstream-appeal. Aspen for instance is a song you'd expect to be everywhere but went under the radar for some reason. The way he blends with the beats seamlessly and his writing which is simple yet effective and well-mastered is exactly something I'd think would garner mass-appeal.

You have to admit that it's not like he isn't constantly putting new music out for us while making his album. We're impatient fucks if we can't wait an extra few months if dude is gonna get his dough. Look at how long 2001 was on the way, when it dropped it was everything we could have hoped for. Incidentally Jacka and Dre would really be winning-combo..

agreed. 'traffic' is probably my fave album of the year.. and barely anyone i know has even heard it

not that jack's cd wasn't good.. but the production on 'traffic' should've been the beats used on 'tear gas'

Rydah's album was his worst.
AP's was straight, but I prefer The Grinch.
Jacka's album will be in my year end top 5.
