Is there any new Anime stuff out?

Post by Random Sample »

I have been wanting to watch some new anime shit, because I am tired of watching all of the same stuff over again and again. Anything new come out recently that I should check out. Any new series worth watching. I checked out Sword of The Stranger, and that was pretty bad ass.

Sword and the Stranger. i havent watched it yet. looks pretty good from what ive seen...

ninja resurrection is a historical epic involving the Tokugawa Shogunate attempting to wipe out Christianity in Japan. There's a lot of action, featuring huge battles splattered with blood and gore.

FOTNS Set in a post apocalyptic world where the Earth is barren and the strong survive by preying on the weak, the series follows the journey of Kenshiro, the successor of Hokuto Shinken, a secret martial arts style that allows its practitioner to destroy an opponent's body from within by striking into their secret channeling points, often resulting in a violent and gruesome death. Kenshiro uses his skills to protect the weak and innocent against the numerous villains that threaten their survival.

I haven't seen good anime in years. Recently went through and watched a bunch of gems in the past month. The other week I dug through clips from Ninja Scroll, the villains in that flick are nasty!

the only series I watch on a regular basis is bleach.

Until something else comes along, I guess I will be watching Cowboy bebop for the 100th time.

new dvd edition

although according to reviews it's sourced from a new jap version, which means it still has those annoying blurs over the fun parts. so i'm on the fence about getting it

street fighter 2 the animated movie is really dope. chun li's shower scene, the opening ryu vs sagat fight, ryu and ken vs. bison. actually this whole movie is on point, i loved every minute of it.

As quite a few of you guys have mentioned, Sword of the Stranger is dope, definitely worth checking if you havenג€™t already.

Sorry to hijack this thread a bit but anyone got any general anime recommendations, not just the new stuff?

Iג€™d say I prefer the more ג€˜adultג€™ end of the anime spectrum, so for example whilst I enjoyed the likes of Full Metal Alchemist and Gundam I thought they were a little childish so didnג€™t really have any longevity. The stuff Iג€™ve really go into is either feudal Japan ninja sword-play peoples heads being lopped off/exploding type of shit (Ninja Scroll) or bleak, big fuck-off guns, government conspiracies and stuff blowing up type of shit (GITS)

Some of the movies/series Iג€™ve gotג€¦

Akira
Ninja Scroll
Cowboy Bebop
Sword of the Stranger
Ghost in the Shell
Fist of the North Star
Golgo 13
Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade
Gundam Seed Destiny
Princess Mononoko

Iג€™ve ordered Ninja Resurrection as I reckon Iג€™d like this. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I actually heard from many sources that Ninja Resurrection is very loosely tied to Ninja Scroll and that it was a terrible flick, which is why I never watched it.

Some recommendations:

I'm sure you'd dig Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - it's just like Ninja Scroll (dope ass characters) but in a gothic vampire setting.

Both Vampire D movies are fantastic.
You would probably enjoy the Karas movies as well.

I like the bloodlust sequel better but the original '85 joint contains that dope company flow intro sample on Silence.

I used to write reviews for anime dvd's for a website about 5 years ago, and I have to day that ninja resurrection is complete shit.

I need to find shit from the 80's that I missed. I am a big fan of 8 man after, golgo 13. I need to find more shit like that.
