^ Trying to explain the greatness of the NBA playoffs to eternalreflection is like trying to explain to Hal from 2001 why Salma Hayek's titties are one of the most beautiful things in the Universe.

DO NOT COMPREHEND.

enjoy the win, but put away the FAGGOTs and the YALL SLEEPIN and the caps lock.

Now you sound sane and rational. Are you sure you're a Bulls fan?
Obviously my comments weren't directed at you. Collateral damage unfortunately.

Billups has been incredible thusfar, and they're only up by 2. Not a good sign. This series should be pretty damn entertaining.

'Melo is playing like shit. If I was George Karl I'd grab him by his jersey and say "Look, motherfucker, you're the most talented forward on the floor. Wipe the stupid grin off your face. Stop taking dumb shots, making dumb passes, and play up to your talent, fucko".

But that's probably why I wouldn't make it as an NBA coach.

Marks, you don't want none of Kmart.

Good idea for the Nuggets to beat the shit out of Paul I think. Dude is wafer thin, and if he isn't being aggressive the Hornets are done.

The Rapping Coffin wrote: -ER is right that only a few teams have a chance to win each year. BUT having 16 teams in the playoffs is valuable for a couple of reasons.

1) 94 Rockets. Happened once, could happen again. The best team could take a little longer to get healthy, or get better through a big trade.
2) The future of the league learning to be great.

Jordan hanging 63 on the 86 Celtics. KG against the 97 Rockets. The Bad Boys vs the 1984 Knicks. AI's first playoff appearance in 1999. I could go on and on...

None of these guys had a chance to win, and some got swept out of the first round. But this was the moment where the world knew they had arrived. Does Jordan have the hunger to win three in a row if he didn't get his ass kicked by the Celtics and Pistons in the previous 5 years? Can Derrick Rose do great things in 5 years without the playoff experience he gets this year?

One of the best thing about the NBA is watching the rise of great players. If you can't see the drama in that than this sport isn't for you.
Since your argument involves actual player development, emotion and entertainment for the fans instead of PER and John Hollingers number charts, ER's brain cannot compute this and thus hates the idea of a 16 team playoff format.

Yeah. He's made a lot of head-scratching plays. Sometimes I wonder if he's just that goofy/retarded or just smokes a lot of pot. The jury's still out.

And how bout the rough play in this game? The refs are letting most of it go (except when it's just blatant). Hats off to them.

Billups as a rookie and Iverson as a rookie, who do you take to start your team?

:naswtf:

as a rookie? what kind of relevance does this have right now in the playoff thread?

to answer your question, it's not even close. if you remember, billups wasn't even a relevant point guard till his 2nd year on minnesota. people thought he was a certified bust until that point. He was extremely disappointing for the first 3-4 years of his career.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume jazz meant for a whole career

like who do you take, AI or billups as a rookie knowing you'll have them for their whole careers

with that logic you can make a good case for billups who has won a title vs. AI who has not as well as billups who has not broken down to the point of being the 3rd best viable point guard on your team vs. AI who is getting outplayed by will bynum at this point

:icedit: btw, on this note, eric and i both think deron williams will be better at 30+ than cp3

lol its one game, and he's quite good

Chauncy isn't going to shoot 8/9 from 3 again, that is just pure luck

ive stated many a times that Paul is an average defender AT BEST. i think reason or somebody tried to flame me but if you actually watch him his man defense is pretty pathetic besides waiting for somebody to beat him and try to poke the ball out from behind

He is like Iverson in that his help defense is good because he can get into passing lanes, but still he gambles too much and isn't that good a defender at all.

but again you cant really judge his game by one playoff performance, chauncey was hitting shots from 3+ feet behind the 3.
