I dont think anyone's got a "good copy", but about a year ago I attempted to remaster the bootleg. sounds about 100% better, but still not very good, if you get me. can upload it next week if you're interested

I noticed that over a month ago. A ton of their posts are taken from this forum. @ those type of bloggers.
Well, damn, that sucks. I noticed the first few downloads I got from them were of stuff I previously had, but in better quality. So, I took about 2 days and downloaded every single record from their site. And that's alot. I think their count for January was something like 720 rips. Needless to say, my fingers got numb from trying to get everything and I eventually started seeing a couple of Kimani's rips and at least one Thomasv rip. And eventually, I noticed the quality dropped back down to 160 on certain rips.
But, I still give them props for having all of those rips at pretty good quality in one place. All done within a couple of months.
Mad Human wrote:So stupid guy/guys over there, they stole some rips of my blog, such an idiot. Because of such people, i won`t put anymore full rips of my records.
The snippets are fair enough to hear the artists then buy the record.
You should never let what someone else does effect the quality of what you do. So what if someone takes your rip? You just go to their site and call them out on that shit. Besides, it isn't about props, it's about spreading the good music, right?
And you know damn well that certain records are hard to impossible to find at affordable prices.
And if we're not buying it directly from the artist, it's not really supporting them.
So, what I'm saying is that if you still have a blog out there, fuck those guys. Share the music and your kindness and selflessness will pay off in the end(nh). What goes around, comes around.

Yeah, I too have downloaded everything on that site, and will continue to, but it is kinda funny, especially since they take the time not only to tag the songs a bit differently, but they actually put the website url into the "comments" section if you're on itunes. One thing I do find a bit annoying is that they have a few sites listed, but no mention of the sites they actually get their music from, such as this place.

^I feel you on that, kimani. That's wack. They could at least link or give a shout or something. Oh well, I guess this will always happen and the only way to combat it is to call them out on their own site, which is amusing to me. I've never actually done that myself, but Thun and Thomasv have aggressively attacked other sites for jacking TROY blog materials. Makes for funny reading, too.

Now it's cool once in a while but they jack a shitload of posts from here... whatever happened to a thing called originality? Putting up stuff that no one else has or in a way that it hasn't been done before (i.e. thematic compilations). Isn't that the whole point of a blogspot? A blogspot based on recycled uploads is lame - people can just google or download soulseek instead.

Sure it's dope spreading good music, but relentlessly posting music 24-7 - music that are quite easy to find and affordable to purchase via amazon, ebay, gemm, etc. ain't really as dope as it seems. I don't want to get all RIAA on you guys (I've done my share of uploading and will continue to do so) but these blogs that claim to be doing "free advertisements" for artists (when people complain of piracy) and urge people to go out and buy these albums/singles in their disclaimers (to avoid getting sued) is bullshit and we know it. I feel like a lot of these bloggers don't even own one piece of vinyl or haven't bought a CD in over 4 years... that just makes me sad as a fan of this music and an avid collector.

Yeah a lot of records are hard to find, but some aren't - they just cost a pretty penny. What I hate most these days are cats who beg people for a certain vinyl rip or say shit like "I never wanted to buy the actual vinyl, I just really want that one song. Can you upload that for me? I've been after it for years!!" Dude just get a job and buy that shit just like they did, you sound pathetic taking handouts. lol

That being said, I love this forum. People like Kev uploading obscure gems and the teamwork involved in tracking down requests for people is all love. At the same time, it irks me that people are buying music less and less these days and looking toward blogspots as the total "be all and end all" to their musical fixes. [/preach over]

many people claim "they have no money". But to be honest, if one is employed, then i see no excuse. Save up to buy that cd, or 12''. ...........but then some people who are well above their means , are too greedy to take out the wallet.

Let these blogs do what they will do.

What they DON'T DO is provide useful information, substantive commentary, or repackage found material in an interesting way.

They exist SOLELY as internet warehouses for better blogs. Their only other plausible purpose is to bring attention to themselves, which is silly. If they feel the need to graft material from better blogs just to function, than I feel sorry for them.

you know what's fucking DOPE? the bad territory video remix from the trauma center. i feel blessed to own it. i would share it here, but i need to respect the artist's wishes. i didn't want to create a thread for this - so this is where i'm dropping it. go support them. they have copies of their original self-pressed albums available as well as original sealed copies of their first 12". go communicate with those cats - it's worth it. probably the dopest group ever without recognition. seriously, it would be cool to download their shit, as i do with many other artists. but these cats are still willingly active with their fans and their material is still available for purchase. hit 'em up, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for that, godmc; it's always nice to see people selling their own stuff instead of just letting others resell on ebay and not seeing the proper profits.

Nice. lol. I know you're not rich and the love is mutual.
I've just seen you rant more than once on the subject.
I still hail the queen  And I did damn near cry a river because I couldn't have those OLU vinyls. I've been supporting the artists on the those releases since they were unkowns and couldn't afford to cop those records. I deserve to have that whole series in my crate. :owens:
But it is what it is.
