That's a BlackMonk joint from this EP (Hummin in the sun) on Poo-Bah Records
did u say pretty good ??? lol that joint is crazy nice man. I wonder where's the sample from. classic joint.
Don't get ahead of yourself. I like the beat, but I'm not impressed by beats made in 2005 that sound like they were made in 1995.
what are you talking about ? show me some 95 joint that sound like that joint. nothing that came out of the poo-bah camp sounds like that era. this is that dusty roots reggae, spiritual jazz influenced stuff. only thing that comes (remotely) close to mind is the organized noize type of sound. this is that warm sound feel me ?
Yeah, thats what I'm talking about. But, you can't front like the beat doesn't sound like a throwback. I downloaded the EP already cuz I dig it and I'll check it out some more when I get home.

of course it has a vintage feel to it but it just has nothing to do with mid-nineties hip hop type of beats. cuz its influences are from way earlier than that. the ep is dope so yeah listen to it when u can. so far Ras G has more material than BlackMonk so you should check his stuff too. His latest album "Ghetto Sci-Fi" is dopeness.

Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots (StrictlyBeats.Blogspot.com)

Listening to these beats without the rhymes puts them in a whole other level. Danger is ridiculously dope.

Flying Lotus >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I really slept on this guy initially, but his shit is monstrous. There isn't anyone fucking with this guy's beat construction.

I just recently really got into instrumental albums this past year. Late Night Cinema and 14KT's The Golden Hour were ridiculous. I understand why BSBD called it late night Cinema, that joint was like watching some sad/epic 60's movie.

Both Golden Hour and Late Night Cinema shit all over FlyLo's Los Angeles which i still thought was pretty good.

I gotta a lot of catching up to do, I've never heard of 95% of the albums listed in this thread.

I like gandalf's beat machine from the Living legends crew, those are some great tunes right there.
I'm also feeling DJ krush's albums meiso and his self entitled album.infact, it's my goal to one day collab with krush before I leave earth.NUjabes is also a good producer.I like RJD2 too along with DJ shadow.

Print, This numb song is probably my favorite instrumental hip-hop i've heard in a very long time. I will be getting this album. Can we expect it to all have this type of vibe? I know your stuff always has a lot to it- so rappers are scared to use alot your beats , I think this is a happy medium for you.
