I stopped reading after I saw Casino Royale at #16.
A) I thought that movie was a piece of shit... worst Bond movie I've ever seen with a shitty concept and a horrible ending. I about threw that movie out the window when I saw the poker scene with two full houses, a straight, and a straigh flush. Get the fuck outta here.
B) How the fuck is that better than Goldeneye... or any other Bond film for that matter.

creating a mod list of a 100 would imply that 3 people have to agree with Icesicle 100 times each. I don't think agreeing with Icesickle 300 times is mathematically possible

I'm more or less down if the mods want to do it.
Depends how people want the list to look too, like when M2C did their top 100 they had a variety of different opinions on the shit. We might need someone like Admiral to keep it grounded, Spartan to grime it up, etc.
And for what it's worth there was a top 100 thread a few years back. It wasn't a collective thing though, it was just people posting their own lists. I remember the thread because I was embarrassed about my list almost as soon as I posted it. I can't remember all the dumb shit but I remember I had Fellowship of the Ring at 100 which is a huge wtf for me because even at the time I probably could have thought of 100's of movies I liked better (not even getting into whether it's a good or bad series, I do like them, but I like other shit better, ya dig) and I may have even edited that out, I don't remember, and also I had Once Upon a Time in the List way too far back. It'd be ranked higher this time. Higher meaning closer to number one. Maybe even it would be number 1 now I've seen it on a big screen twice since then. Ramblinggggggggggg
basically what I'ms aying is the list would probably suck but I'd still be down to do it

^^^ Well, even if it did suck, it couldn't suck as much as the "Greatest Movie of All-Time" tournament. Jesus that sucked.
The problem with something like that is 50-odd people vote. Clearly, democracy fails in that case because any jabroni can vote and everyone's vote is equal. On the other hand, a list made by one person is going to represent that person's tastes more than anything so it doesn't hold much weight.
I like the idea of a few people who love movies, watch a lot of movies, and are conversant about them coming to some sort of consensus about which ones are the best or most essential or however you wanna define it. I would actually go check those movies out (the ones I haven't seen at least). I see a lot of movies I've never seen or heard of before on here, but only in a relative sense. For someone like me who doesn't watch hundreds of movies a year, I'm wary of taking someone's opinion about it seriously especially when they are in the vien of "It was good, it was horrible, it was okay". I don't watch a ton of movies so I only watch those that I'm reasonably sure are gonna be good and trying to figure out which ones I should see is a confusing process. So I think it would serve as a guide in that sense so I (or anyone else for that matter) could judge a movie they haven't seen against movies I have seen on the list and that I enjoyed. And if I saw a movie on the list that I thought sucked, I could on here and complain about how it was shite and you guys could tell me how I'm not savvy enough to appreciate it and so forth.

It was farcical, but that was largely due to a film representing a category rather than it's own individual merit and pitting it against another voted winner from another genre.Money Gripp wrote:^^^ Well, even if it did suck, it couldn't suck as much as the "Greatest Movie of All-Time" tournament. What bugs me about all these so called Top 100 movies lists, is how badly they are, they're either judged on box office grossing or rose tinted nostalgia that's more inline with a particular generation or flat out copycat safe-choices from previous movie lists in order to gain credibility. And then when you've gathered your 100 choices, you've got the mother of all fuck ups to avoid. Where each movie is placed in that mythical 100.
