this shit reads like something compiled by a giggly smart-dumb high school junior and her newly-deep and cultured liberal arts majoring college sophomore boyfriend in a quiet moment during arguing whether The Hills should be enjoyed as escapist entertainment or a biting satire of America as a shallow cesspool of consumerism

from the numbers I'd have to guess Top 100 of the past 25 years.

I don't think the list is as bad if you view it less as a ranking and more as a pool of enjoyable (and some even great) movies. How many of those movies have you seen and not enjoyed?

2 in the top 10 alone

and even allowing for personal preferences, can you honestly tell me that you enjoy Titanic more than Ghostbusters?

Actually, that is one of the few things on there that I completely agree with.

I suppose we can do an ask drizzle thread, why not

you honestly believe that Return of the King is even in the same league and playing the same sport as Fellowship?

Yes I do, but that's beside the point. What I'm really advocating is that all 3 should be viewed and judged as a whole, and that this whole is pretty fucking tremendous on numerous levels.

I definitely don't enjoy Titanic more than Ghostbusters.

Like I said, it is a lot better if you view it as a pool/unranked list of great movies.

if it's unranked why are they numbered?

and even disregarding that, there's at least 30 movies on here that i like a whole lot that aren't even in the same ballpark as the word 'great'. Bourne Supremacy, Speed and Casino Royale? GTFO, and I'm a serious action movie junkie.

also, it's interesting that apparently only 1 good movie was made outside of america in the last 20something years

this is kind of a dumb criticism, I mean it's entertainment weekly, what do you expect? It's not that type of magazine. The only lists they do that might have any credibility are the year end best ofs that Glieberman and Swarzbaum put together. The rest of these giant ones are just publicity stunts.

you got a point stormy, but there are a few foreign movies that did break into the mainstream with enough impact to rank here. They put in Crouching Tiger, I just noticed that actually.

Moulin Rouge at 10 is really what's pissing me off about the whole thing and making me rant wildly

Toy Story at 5 is pretty egregious too. I mean really, Over Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King? Not to mention the other better Pixar movies?

But you know this shit had to be committied as fuck.

I don't know I'm not trying to be a dick but there's just a few too many fish in this barrel to aim seriously

Word. I'd like to see Drizzle's list, especially since he started this thread and knows his shit.
