lil dap and melachi are terrible.

breez - breez is a real solid mc. I havent heard anything he has released since maybe 2002. always enjoyed his work. battled him on mtv and lost. good times. in my defense i was kinda thrown, i went there with plans of dissing real world hawaii cast member tek who was co-hosting direct effect at the time. unfortunately he wasnt there so i had this great rhyme i was planning on using and couldnt use. on the plus side of things mya was the guest that day. she is absolutely one of the hottest women i have ever seen in my life. i would move into her but if i could afford the rent.

whichcraft and molecule, how can i describe them? the thing about them is they were amazing for a very specific period of time. and that was like 94-95. they were very much in the vein of early cella dwellas style. they painted amazing images. their energy live didnt translate onto the track as well, much more energy and animation live. of the two i think molecule was the better of the two.

about breez: my friend is a huge fan of his and ran into him as he was the umbrella check guy at the apple store on 5th ave. apparently walking into his favorite rappers day job was a rather surreal experience.

i didnt even know breez was back in nyc. I used to always bump into dudes when i was working as an advertising manager for a magazine. imagine how weird it is on the otherside when you are wearing a suit with co-workers and people start calling you Alaska. thats always a fun one.

i dont really know any of dose's stuff outside of hemispheres which i havent heard in years. but at the time i thought it was tremendous. i think he killed that painting words song. I cant say if i like anything after that period though i just didnt really check for it, it didnt seem like the type of thing i would have been into at the time. could have been great though. I always thought dose was cool though and got along with him.

glad you thought the verse we did was funny, thats definitely what we were going for. vordul and i had entire songs like that, unfortunately they were never recorded.

yeah it was around 97. wind actually just unearthed a ton of old tapes from 95-98 mostly unreleased and unmixed atoms stuff. we will probably leak that shit one day we just have to convert the tapes.

also as for the centa of da web vinyl im sure you can get some loot for it. i sold my clear vinyl funcrusher, yesh and siah vinyl, juggaknots vinyl and centa vinyl for like $200 on ebay

C-Rayz is really hit or miss for me. when he is on there are not many people that can rap better than him. 3 card molly is the type of shit i like to hear from rayz. that song is amazing.

wordsworth - used to love his freestyles with punchline on stretch and bob, but i never really checked for his records.

kwest - reggie told me he was gonna break me off with a copy of kwest. i never heard him.

i really like dez a lot. he has a lot of different styles. great rhyme schemes. good voice. insane flow. and all of his records are pretty much good start to finish. i still play behemoth a few times a month which is more than i can say for 98% of the rap musics i have purchased and/or not purchased. i seriously recommend checking him out.

sad to hear youre gonna be goin on sabbatical. I loved the two Hangar 18 albums. Any guest appearances or random features or anything coming up soon? Lyrically, schemes, patterns etc. I felt you and Breez were two of the best doin it. I'll stop brown nosing..

thanks man. im not sure whats going on next. i have started work on a solo ep so far i got beats from block and aes, waiting for beats from a few others paul included. i plan to have some guests on it but its not gonna be on songs, but wind will be on that. we have also talked with a producer we are both good friends with and whos work we love about doing an ep, but we will see what happens with that. its more a sabbatical from touring than anything.

now to the rappers

eminem - the marshall mathers album is a classic. he has sick flow, sick rhymes, sick cadance and style. but he sucks now.

ice cube - his run from nwa to death certificate was goat status, nobody was close to him at the time. he was my favorite mc from that period. then he dropped preditor and it was all downhill from there

what do you think of ice cube's newer shit? sure its not the stuff you mentioned, but it's not complete garbage either, imo

so you mean you don't think predator is a dope album? cuz while it's not as widely respected as the aforementioned, i think it still holds it's ground as a pretty damn great album.

i was only in 6th grade when it dropped though, so i didn't feel the let down of the other great albums at the time.

IG Off - loved his stretch and bob freestyles. he was friends with my boy bill g. who got me started in the nuyo/nyc underground thing back in like 95. he used to kill the cyphers outside of the all that and words.

Ed. OG - i havent heard any of his recent stuff but i always thought he was a really solid early 90s guy a long the lines of large pro in main source.

its not that it was a bad album it was just the album that i kinda started not caring about cube anymore.

Devin The Dude is great.

ALASKA is killing this thread, BTW. Not hilarious like THUN, or encyclopedic like B. Ware, but still entertaining.

Go back to the "as an artist" and "as a fan" format! :phila:

jim jones - he is awful, his voice sounds like he is trying to swallow a sock while he is rapping. many times he falls off beat. i really cant say enough bad things about him. i dont like him as an artist or as a fan.

Mr. Eon - he was capable in a very 1987 type of style. had a cool voice and good sports metaphors, but he was very basic. one style, kind of a one trick pony. best thing about eon was mi.
