bumpin on sunset is the only track I know of that I dig.

I bought a few of his records hoping they were good, but they were garbage.

theres probably some good shit out there that I havent heard. bumpin on sunset is cool as shit.

I know alot of Wes's later albums are full of string sections something I absolutely hate. It's as if the producer decided to add strings to make Wes sell more records or appeal to a larger audience, but string sections annoy me to no end.

That would be big Creed Taylor indeed. Ruined many a potentially great album (considering the musicians usually involved, point in the continuum, production values, etc..). He was at his best as a producer when he just got the fuck outta the way and poured money onto Joe Farrell.

Peace to 'song of the wind.'
pre-scientology chick corea gets the gasface for what he would become and all the madness that he would waste.

anyhoo.

My Dad has some Wes and Jimmy Smith (organ) album that's fucking amazing. Really dig what I've heard of both.

I've had really bad luck with jimmy smith too. I originally heard of him when I got prayer meeting with him and stanley turrentine (which is great). I've since bought probably 5 shitty ass jimmy smith albums.

Yeah jazz organ can be especially tiring at times, but if anyone is interested in hearing a damn good song by Jimmy Smith find his album 'The Sermon'. Once you find the album go straight to the song titled 'J.O.S.' it features an excellent Lee Morgan solo and the entire song has a pretty good pacing none of the yawn-inducing stuff that can permeate a jazz organ lp.

This Wes Montgomery album is fire. Thanks, Seabass, probably your best upload ever.

Pretty sure I heard the Riding Dirty sample in there.
