Stress wouldn't exist without PE's album.
And no Organized Konfusion song will ever be better than "Welcom to the Terrordome."
Where were you confused skateboarders when OK's album actually dropped and went wood, getting them dropped from their label?

and PE's was not next level? If you were in my house right now I would kick you out.ardamus wrote:I went with OK because of the styles they had on it. PE's album is tough to be album and not too many albums can hang with it. But OK's Stress was something next level.

Public Enemy.
Fear of a Black Planet is a monster of an album. Not quite as good as It Takes A Nation, but damn close. "Welcome to the Terrordome," "911 Is A Joke," "Burn Hollywood Burn," "Brothers Gonna Work It Out," "Fight The Power," etc, etc.
Stress is good, but it's anchored by only four great songs in my esitmation, being "Stress," "Extinction Agenda," "Stray Bullet," and "Bring It On." The rest of it was passible, but not exceptional. I actually prefer their self-titled debut on some days. And I've been tryin' to find my copy of Equinox for a minute now. All good albums, by great creative minds, but nothing of their's touches PE's first three, maybe four albums for me.

"Thirteen" is an incredible track, too. I'd put it up there with the four that you mentioned.B. Their first album contains what I consider to be their best tracks: "Prisoners Of War" and "Releasing Hypnotical Gases". It has a lot of filler on it, though.
"Equinox" is actually a damn good front-to-back album that got shitted on back when it dropped due to unrealistic expectations. It's no "Stress", but it is great in it's own right.
Nope didn't say that and you wouldn't get close to fuckin' kickin' meButta wrote:and PE's was not next level? stress by a thousand miles...i liked fear of a black planet when it dropped but it always was in the shadows of the far superior to the east blackwards...
and once albums like step into the arena peoples instinctive travels and one for all started coming out i dont think i ever listened to it again

sure about what? It's not the best PE song of all-time or anything, but it was a helluva anthem and the video is one of the GOATs.JaH BLaZe wrote:you sure about that?B. Ware tha Siniq wrote:Public Enemy.

Or are you sayin' it wasn't on the album... cuz it was... it was a bonus track but it was there.

Confused skateboarders made up a sizeable portion of PE's fanbase when this came out too Thun, don't get it twisted.Paragraph President wrote: Where were you confused skateboarders when OK's album actually dropped and went wood, getting them dropped from their label?
Can't vote. OK's never made anything as good as "Brothers Gonna Work it Out" or "Welcome to the Terrordome," but Stress is a more playable album from front to back. It's not as innovative, but you can listen to it straight through. Had this been up against Millions... or even Pete Rock's remix of "Shut Em Down" Stress would been down for the count, but some of the tracks on Fear..., like "Fight the Power," sound dated.
