Slug vs. Sage Francis
Both good guys and one almost died, so I wouldn't feel right if I didn't put Sluggo in one of these before God starts knockin on his door again.
Sage does things I don't understand, he makes music that sucks ALOT of times. I've never heard a slug album or even song for that matter that I at least couldn't stomach. I think the NonProphets album is the best thing Sage Francis will ever be a part of in hiphop while i think Slug gets better and takes risk that pay off more of the time.
ALSO SLUG HAS SUPERIOR BOARDING SKILLS!

i loved atmosphere (nh) when i first discovered them when overcast dropped, when no teenie boppers ever herd of em. i was like...holy shit, these dudes are taking the hiero cd out my player...that was around 1999. Then i met sage in 2000 at lupos (when i went to see anticon) and got into his shit (nh) haha
i bought all their cds, went to many atmosphere/sage shows until about 2004-05 due to the fact atmosphere started getting a little eh...and sage kept on sounding like sage and still sounds like his first cd
at rock the bells i watched a little of the sage set just cause hes great live, i didnt even see felt, my girl was like...lets go to the main stage.
now i dont check for either of them dudes.
they are both great artists and i have respect for both of them but...i dunno, they tie for me
i didnt vote.

well, I enjoy Hope more than anything Slug's released but Sage's solo work does nothing for me. On the other hand, Slug makes me laugh online, is pretty consistent and I think dude hasn't peaked yet (no drugs).
Vote: Slug
EDIT: post made me go back and listen to Lucy Ford for the first time in years. Better than I remember it minus a couple of glaring WTF moments.

sage easily.
i've never really listened to anything atmosphere has done, & saw some of the felt show at RTB, which totally corroborated my avoidance. i think i used to play woman with the tattooed hands some when i was a teenager.
the only sage shit i own/have heard is the makeshift patriot thing & non prophets, both of which are top notch. & a few random tracks here & there. his solos seem uneven or whatever, but the best of sage puts him over the top.
