Well shit. My wife just bought one. I think I'm going to get one soon. I don't care about music or any of that stuff.Smooth Lou wrote:It's a lovely phone, but is it still only being sold by Verizon?
Verizon cripples its phones with bullshit restrictions such as not being able to transfer music over Infrared/Bluetooth, among other things, and I would advise that you stay away from them all together.
It's small and it has that navigator program that I want.

Honestly, the phone is gorgeous and has a lot of great features. Battery life is top notch too. Can't think of much to complain about it. Two friends have it and I look on with jealousy.cascarrabias wrote:Well shit. My wife just bought one. I think I'm going to get one soon. Any other opinions on the phone would be appreciated.
A mate of mine has had one for a while. He said it's good, but he doesn't like the touch sensitive buttons. I've got a Samsung E900 and I hate the touch sensitive buttons on that too, cos I'm forever touching one by accident. It puts me off getting an iPhone or an LG Prada in the future, cos I much prefer tactile buttons.

The iPhone is a completely different touchscreen technology than any of it's predecessors.Sigma wrote:A mate of mine has had one for a while. That is the web browser I assume? If so, it does not cost minutes, it costs by the KB or the MB, depending. Get the data plan for the extra $10 or $20 if you really want to use it, but honestly, surfing the web isn't all that great on a regular phone.cascarrabias wrote:Does anybody know anything about that VZ Navigator? If you use it, does it just take minutes away or do you have to pay for it everytime?

the lg 8600 is like a cheaper rip of the razr v3m. the phones are basically the same except the lg has touchpad buttons on the outside. the phone feels much less sturdy since its plastic instead of the razrs metal. battery life kinda sucks. it only holds like 40 text messages. regardless of your xp card slot capacity. theres probably a way around it, but not using stock methods. but either way, you can hack both. if i could do it over, i think id rather go with the phone agent b posted. oh and overall, verizon phones suck.

the outside buttons? yes there is.TrippinOnAcid wrote:Is there not some sort of option to change the sensitivity of the buttons? Either way I'm getting the white one on friday, too sexy to pass up.
settings tools - 5 - 7 - choose sensitivity

A piece of crap can sometimes can look a little like chocolate. i think thats the case here. The phone focuses too much on trying to be some great ipod like isht, but forgot its main function was a phone. The buttons for controls are mad touch sensitive, and even when the level is adjusted it is more sensitive than a pregnant chick having her period (think about it). So when you are talking and press it to your face (which you will have to because it is really quiet) it will select all kinds of craziness, most usually mute, so when you say something back the person, they can't hear you. Also the camera sucks; all kinds of tint etc. but no flash. Also call waiting is a bitch, no way to put people on hold or switch back and forth etc. Anyway I could go on...I hate this Chocolate crap. peace.
