The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is one damn good actor

Post by Dwight Strawberry »

I don't think I have ever been disappointed with any of Will Smith's performances. He is a solid actor.

I watched "The Pursuit of Happyness" this weekend. It has to be one of the most inspiring movies I have seen since "The Shawshank Redemption." It is one damn good movie.

i was remarking that the only evidence one needs of Will Smith being a terrific actor was Bad Boys 2. i highly doubt you will find many people who like that movie more than me, stormshadow, and IDAL.

In 7 Degrees... he was a gay conman. Is that indie enough for you?

It's not a terrible movie but why is it such a cult favourite? They may as well name the next sequel The Last Bad Boy and write Martin out of the script altogether.

I'd like to be the lone voice of dissent in this thread.

He has been very good in several movies, fairly average in many more, and terrible in others.

MIB and its awful sequel had Will Smith in full-on-annoying-cocky-"brotha dealing with white people in an entertaining way"-mode, for example.

Love,

Smooth "loved him in Ali though" Lou

I think he's become a pretty good actor...

He's Oscar chasing, which is pretty annoying.

When he's not accepting "Oscar Worthy Roles" he seems to be taking these self-aware "look I still have my funny, just one of the guys side too" roles. Which seem forced and a little disingenuous.

If I were advising him, I'd try to get him into a solid supporting role in a drama that didn't take itself so seriously. That is if he wants an Oscar.

Do you think Will "blackens" up when appearing on award shows?

I thought he was pretty damn good in that.

I'm just glad he passed on Neo, I think Keanu was the perfect person for the roll. Its just hard to see Will being able to pull off the dumbfounded looks that Keanu is so good at.

Yeah He is pretty solid but when he makes a bad movie, which will prob not happen for a while, I htink he is in Denzel mode now) they are bad like WWW and MIB 2 god awful.

How the hell can you not like him in ALI, It doesnt matter if you dont like the movie he is sick in it!
