I don't know, I'm not really too excited about this. I don't know why. I loved Paper Mario and Thousand Year Door. Maybe it's because I saw a demo that said the game was 80 % action, 20 % RPG, or maybe it's because these gameplay clips just don't floor me. going from 2-D to 3-D is cool, but I think it might grow tiresome and I hope they don't rely on it too much for the puzzle solving. I hope I'm wrong and this game is as good or better than Thousand Year Door, becase the Wii is in desperate need a of a big title right now.

you know what? Ive been thinking the exact opposite, lol. Ive been playing thousand year door for the first time, and its excellent, cant beleive I missed the hype when it came out. BUT...my qualm about it IS that its too much RPG. I love rpgs, but the way this game looks just makes you want to keep looking at the prettiness of it all rather than reading a book, which is what I feel the Thousand year door is.

I know what you mean, but I was talking RPg as far as leveling up and all that. I think this game's customization is a lot less than the past games.

Yep. And I prefer it that way. I love Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, but Actioners and Puzzlers are my bread and butter. Plus, the comedy from the Super Mario RPGs being what they are, I know this game is going to be a slam dunk one way or the other.

Another way to look at it is that it's a lot more platforming than any RPG has ever offered. Either way this game looks incredible.

^ Yeah, that's one way of seeing it. I'm gonna be playing this no matter what, I'm just not jumping out of my chair to. The rpg elements of the other two were the main draw for me. Pure platformers tend to bore me after a while. I will probably end up loving it. Curious as to how much Wii control has been implemented.

This looks really good.

Never played the first one. Might pick it up, pick it up, like Black Sheep.

Seriously considering investing in a Wii for this game if I can put down my DS long enough.

I'm a little behind the times, so I still have FF3 and Children of Mana. I had been playing Lost in Blue, but it became too infuriating. (If any of you played through that game, I want a word with you.) Right now? Honestly, I'm embarrassed to say, but I'm playing Harvest Moon. It's not that exciting, but it's perfect for my borderline OCD personality, almost soothing. But it's getting too boring now also.

^ Don't be embarrassed to play Harvest Moon. I was more addicted to Harvest Moon 64 than any game in my entire life.

I wanted to try Lost in Blue, but never could justify spending the money on it. I get easily frustrated with alot of games, and I kept reading that it had alot of gameplay issues. I think the sequel just came out.

The sequel to Lost in Blue has a different style of gameplay, I've heard. The first is pretty challenging, but more than a little monotonous. I'm stuck on building furniture/raft. It seems like I've tried everything, and I can't get it, and it sucks having to re-gather all the necessary materials. Harvest Moon DS is the glitchiest game I've ever played. I've had three separate game files (on two cartridges - I exchanged the first) corrupted after an embarrassing number of hours played, but I've learned to save to both slots. I've heard that you can send your game with details of glitches you've experienced to Natsume, and they'll magically fix them, but that has to take forever.

Just to make sure, you know it doesn't come out until the week after next, right? On the 9th/10th?

Seriously though, the video that Russian posted is off the fucking CHAINS!

It's level 1-2 from the OG Super Mario Bros., in Paper Mario style. NICE.

Not that it matters in this genre of games, but whats the story on this?

Youre obviously not saving Peach so whats up? And why's Bowser in the bunch?

IGN gave this game an 8.9.

I've never played a Paper Mario Game before. I'm thinking of getting this.

In a nutshell, what makes Paper Mario different that regular Mario games?
