He pretty much just drops knowledge. He executive produced/compiled "Tryin To Survive", "Still Tryin", and "Tryin 2000". He has a solo album too, which is very terrible.

As far as I know, and Im sure some real Bay heads can correct me, Herm did some dirt, did some time, and started to speak out against violence and youth crime and shit.

Cali Bay Area rapper Mac Shawn led the Sick Wid It signees Funk Mobb, a short-lived group that released just one album, It Ain't 4 Play (1996). Sick Wid It was a noteworthy rap label at the time, distributed by Priority and also home to E-40 and the Click. Despite the Sick Wid It association and the Priority distribution, Funk Mobb (comprised also of G-Note and K-1) unfortunately enjoyed little success.

Couldn't find a picture of the cover, but this album dropped in 2000. Personally, I love the fuck out of this album all the way through, but I'm only gonna bold the first track because if you don't love that shit, this album ain't for you.

I work at a large independent record store and have access to thousands of albums which I can borrow at no charge -- still Professor Whaley's FROM ALL ANGLES has been the only music I have consistently bumped over the last month. Everytime we play it in the store there is a parade of customers inquiring about what is playing and marching to the regesters with FROM ALL ANGLES in hand. I cannot recommend this album highly enough. I wish that I could afford to buy a copy for everyone that is close to me. Professor Whaley announces in the album's liner notes that "in such an advanced age of information and technology, it seems that the music and art of hip-hop has failed to upgrade the masses with relevent and intelligent products." FROM ALL ANGLES, a hip hop album for the 21st century is one of the few hip hop albums that does achieve this. For me the measure of a great CD is one that i can consistently listen to from start to finish. Since getting FROM ALL ANGLES, atleast 7 different tracks have been "my favorite" and I suspect that the others days are still to come. A self-labeled "healer" professor Whaley gives us conscious and uplifting music that encourages listeners to expect more of themsleves and from their lives. Big Shawn's production is flawless and the whole album eminates a strong musical background exemplified through its texture and effective breakdowns. The album has a classic Bay Area feel but is truly innovative in terms of its music and topics. FROM ALL ANGLES greatest strength lies in its topics which should appeal to virtually all listeners. The uptempo latin rhythms of "Copa Mundial" (the first hip hop song about the worlds most popular sport) and the kinetic groove of "Livicated" will immediately grab the attention of any fan of bumpin' hip hop. Songs like "Takin Over," "@Ease," and "Writers Block" will appeal to activist sensibilities, yet without sounding so preachy that they alienate others. And the introspective beckonings of "Travel.com," "See Inside" and the absolutely beautiful "All in Time" are indescribably moving. Personally (at this moment) the most captivating song is "Mackmatics" (complete with a live version)an anthem for living for all those trying to balance the serious hard work of making a living with the need to occassionally let off steam. That P-Whaley album is one of may favorites also. I have been telling people about it and playing it for them since it dropped. He's not really rapping that much anymore but the other Bored Stiff members are trying to get him to do some more stuff. I think he lives in Minnesota now
