Before this shit gets deleted I feel the need to add my memory!
-back in 1993 my man's dad worked at a local branch of a national T.V. station (CBC!) and as such he had access to this room with all these t.v.s connected to crazy sattelites that recieved signals from all over the world (which was a bigger deal in 93 than it is now). So one day my buddy went to work with his dad for the day and spent the whole day in that room. He somehow managed to steal a Beta machine from some other department and configure it so that it would tape both the American and Canadian versions of Rap City every day. His dad would bring him the tapes every Friday so on Saturdays we would drink and watch rap vids on Beta. It was awesome.

What's up? First post.
This was everyday after school for me. Rap City mostly. I used to have a couple of tapes worth. The first (of what, like, two?) Mad Skillz video, Southernplayalistic, etc etc. One of my favorite of this era is the Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide video.
Takes me back. I think the funniest thing about watching back is getting 2 seconds of a video then it cuts to the beginning of something else. You can see what you used to rewind back and tape over.
I do have a collection someone on the internet put together way back when i used trade mixtapes. It's a VHS of all of the Wu videos, interviews, MTV specials, etc, etc. Me and my old roomates watched the whole thing during a snow storm last winter.

i would actually pay some of you money to get copies of these videos. I teach current events in middle school and do a huge unit on mass media. I dedicate 2-3 wks to the impact and changes of music and music videos. i would love to be able to show my 13 yr old kids what rap videos were like in the late 80s to mid 90s before all of the bling bling, booty shaking, pimp, playa, cars with rims steez they know about.
pm me if you can make vhs or dvd copies and would be willing to send them to me. I would be willing to reimburse you for shipping costs plus add loot for your time and service.

I have only just got over the pain
