I think the beat-rhyme combo works well, very breezy/westcoastish which isn't my shit in general but I can't front on the execution.

the drum programming is really on point, I think some of the percussion in the back could be moved to the forefront though (The bongos/congas).

this some feel good music....nice face-paced rhythm and the guitar makes me think of Hawaii

it feels a bit muffled for some reason......low you should take some low end out of the bassline in there.....rhymes are cool and chorus's not too bad

good shit though

Yo thank you fellas. I appreciate the critism and propers.

As far as the mix goes its not the final cut, just one that I did in a few hours and was happy with. It's hard to make a nice mix with my current 'monitors' shown below. Working on getting some real ones. Finally got money to buy a bed, so monitors are next. I'm gonna try to mix my album when it's finished at the studio I intern at...we'll see.

Current monitors:

Sounds pretty hot man.
I like how there are plenty of changes and background elements going
on in the beat to keep one's interest.
Also like the fast tempo.
Like the congas in the background...really fills it out.
Also like how it seems like you panned some of the elements (ie. hook guitar)
gives it a very wide full sound.

haven't listened to it yet. i don't get on myspace at work, and am less inclined to do so at home.

big difference in monitors there. you'll know once you sit down. are those Yamahas? even below their vaunted NS-10M, that's cadillac shit you're aiming for. must be nice...

The new Yamaha HSM-80's are $350 a piece. Not nearly as much as the NS10's which are the famed monitors. Lately I've been thinking about getting the KRK 8" because I know two cats who have them and love them. Plus you can get em for 500 a pair at Guitar Center. And if my ASCAP card works for monitors it will be a little cheaper.

Isn't that the dude from Mars Ill? Haven't listened to much of him, so I don't know the similiarity.

Thanks for the listen.
