shimmy - drums bump, maybe drop the hihat out a bit gets repetitive, i dunno its a decent enough beat and all but its a bit too tight for odb imo, personal preference tho...

jujubes - sounds like the same drums, that chop doesn't really grab me, seems like another mans sound no offense...

under the table - maybe use two kicks, it sounds like the same 1 kick sample over and over, and all the drums seem really truncated, cool sample i like the vibe you're going for tho

peace

shimmy...sounds proper. pretty funky sample but i think it needs some kind of variations or something. still digging.

jujubes...tight. nice chops. bass could hit a little harder maybe...besides that no real complaints besides it being so short.

under the table...another ill sample. again i like the bassline but i think it needs to be louder in the mix. overall enjoyed though.

shimmy-cool remix, yeah the same loony sounds get a little tiresome after about the first verse,in need of something to space it out,not bad at all tohugh

jujubes--cool name, even doper beat, lovin the dj khalil/hi tek sound of these samples, nicely chopped as well,i have no problem with this, very bumpable

under the table-nice,the drums are crisp although the pattern is a little odd to me,probably nothing but a difference of taste, turn up that bass a little and it's a solid beat

peace

thanks for the positive feedback, y'all just cemented all the shite i was thinkin these needed. shimmy shimmy's definitely getting more work put in...gonna end up on a concept-wutang-remix-tape the one day will be done. gonna take em back to the lab and tweak all of em, cept maybe jujubes, that's gonna get some drum drops and maybe a cut or two then sent to the mc factory...anyways i'll respond asap to anything yous guys got up...tomorrow...just got in from working a 16 hour construction day. that's the equivalent of 23.67 office hours so i need a good 14 hour sleep before i listen to sounds.

oh ya, and the drums in jujubes and shimmy are not at all the same kits, but the hats are similar indubidably, for iron shiek.

thanks for all the words though, means a lot, everytime i post something here (aka every 3 months or so...) the feed gets better, and so far that's the only sign of improvement  so ya, very appreciated.

odb remix - i'm not one to really hate on beats without much of changeup but this one is sort of repetitive and can't stand by itself. i like the samples, love the horns and the remix works. just needs somethin else.

jujubes - mad smooth. you remind me of a butcher named DJ Premiere. the chops are suhin marvelous. instant head nodder. Guru anyone? man those drums are nice and crisp like Rice Krispies when they pop.

under the table - bring those samples up a little bit maybe? a better baseline would fill this track out. the melody works though.

good stuff.

shimmy rmx: this is funky. obviously it aint as good as the original :-). I like this, though a changeup during the "oh baby i like it raw" chorus might be cool, too.

jujubes-- funky bassline, it has Pete rock written all over it. once again i am reminded of those mushroom jazz cuts. nice chops here man. it's like pete rock mixed with dj premier.

under the table-kept waiting and waiting for that bassline but I ended up being disappointed. the bassline doesn't really add any energy to the track, it almost takes some away. the bass sounds flat. with a new bassline this would be tight.

cool stuff. i've heard good stuff all week.

odb... like it as a beat, not as a remix. could use switch ups if you plan on keeping this as a remix.

jujubes is pretty dope. love the chops.

drums don't feel fluent on under the table. maybe it's just because the break is recognizable. sample kinda grates on me a little, but it's not bad.

not really feelin the odb remix. the beat itself works but not with dirt dog. i like the sample though. shit is funky. give this to someone else to rock over.

jujubes really does have a primo vibe to it. not bad. simple but effective.

under the table. not really feelin the drum work on this. the sample itself is illy. could use maybe another element, nothing big, just something here and there to spice it up.

shimmy--this is nice man, that horn is dope. I feel like the beat could use a little more elements though, 'cause nothing is really driving the bottom end. maybe a heavier bass would help out? regardless, nice work dude.

jujubes--honestly this sounds kinda generic to me...the sample never really grabbed me. does sounds a lot like Premier though. I think if you add a bit more to this beat it could be real dope.

under the table--get a bassline in here that flows better with the samples, and pump up the volume of the samples, and this will be an awesome beat. seriously, i think there's a ton of potential to this track. i actually think this is my favorite of the three

jujubes - now, THAT's my shit. i'd cop an ep of beats just like this to pretend to clean my house to. lovely chops, dope ass fucking kicks and snare and hat and bangstick drum programming, this is hip-hop. props.

under the table - you know how to lay a damn drum line, like, on some turn that bitch out until she shows up at your job with a sleeping bag and a pistol. wish the bassline was a bit deeper and less busy, like, on some sustained notes on the 1 and the 4and and the 1 again. good money.

shimmy rmx - this is fucking GRAND dude. seriously, on some ol' cella dwellas shit. woo. i'm bugging, this hornline is something i'd like to either die to or be killed over. GRAND money, and then when those fucking vibes hit??????whoo. jesus, this is the jawn, dude. perfect joint. straight up and down and across and through and into the sweet part of my brain. perfect.
got more records than god.

www.myspace.com/tayoisnt is where i show how i use 'em.
