Ipod videos question

Post by Grand Central »

I can't get video files into Itunes. I click on add file, select the video I want and go ahead, but the video doesn't appear to be showing up anywhere in Itunes. Do they have to be a special type? I've tried both wmv and avi files with no luck. I want to figure this out so I can watch some vids already.

Use this:

Alternative to Quicktime Pro.

thanks for this...the only one i could find put words in the middle of the video since the program was free.

did you guys change anything in the setup tab before converting? my "one-click profile" is set for MPEG-4/320x240/768kbps stereo/128kbps just wondering if that's okay. also, with the converted mp4 file, its giving me an "avisynth script" along with it. do i need that or can i delete it?

I didn't change anything at all, just converted a video file and it works perfectly on the Ipod, so I assume everything is gravy.

I don't think you need that file, DJB. Probably just part of the output process....

H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
i haven't gotten h.264 to work under any encoder tho.
