WTF?! Monitor Display Issue

Seemingly out of nowhere, my monitor has gone on the fritz. I go away for a bit, come back, and now only 3/5 of the screen is able to display anything. It's as if the monitor settings are stuck to only use this small space in the middle of the screen.

I tried messing with all of the actual monitor settings, but nothing worked. It's at its maximum. I've tried messing with the display settings in Windows, and the resolution changes, but it makes no difference in the amount of used space on the monitor--it only changes the resolution in the little space that is being used. I tried unplugging the power to the monitor/cable to PC. I've tried restarting my PC. Nothing. It's a standard CRT type.

Am I just due for a new monitor? This thing isn't even that old.

Couple of things to try:

Update or reinstall your video drivers. They do corrupt, not unheard of.

Try the monitor on another system or like a laptop to see if it is an issue with your video card.

I tried the monitor on a different system after I posted as well. Same result. Problem must be with the monitor. It's barely even a year old. A lame brand, sure, but it WAS free. I guess you get you pay for, so to speak.
